Samsung Epic 4G Touch Getting Jelly Bean – Only Through Kies at This Time

Thursday 28th of March 2013 / androidheadlines.com
Now here’s something we weren’t expecting, but Samsung and Sprint have announced that their Galaxy S2 variant, the Epic 4G Touch is getting its update to Android 4.1 – Jelly Bean. But unfortunately you’ll only be able to get it through Kies, due to the file size. You’ve probably heard me say many times how much I hate Kies, well if you have an Epic 4G Touch, you’ll find out why when you try to update your device with Kies. While Sprint and Samsung are saying that the file is to big to be rolled out OTA, we’ve got our money on the fact that it’s nearly 2 years old and not high on Sprint’s priority list for OTA’s. But hey at least your getting the update right? You’ll need to be running stock and on version FL24 to get the update. The new version will be GB27 and will come with Android 4.1 – Jelly Bean and all the awesome features it brings. Including Google Now, Enhanced Notifications and more. We’re also expecting some changes to Touchwiz, and the usual bug fixes, although it’s not stated in the change

AT&T Giving Jelly Beans to its Samsung Galaxy S3

Monday 03rd of December 2012 / androidheadlines.com
Finally! After our friends in Canada started getting Android 4.1 – Jelly Bean last night on their Galaxy S3, it looks like tonight AT&T has started pushing some Jelly Beans to their Galaxy S3 customers. Currently the update is available through Samsung’s sort of crappy software Kies, it’s also available to flash if you grab the file from Samsung-Updates. The build is I747UCDLK3. And the entire update is 691.4MB if you’re planning to flash it. The OTA should be much smaller than that. Around 320MB is what users in Canada were getting last night. But that just shows how clunky Touchwiz is, since stock Android is around 170MB.Users are reporting on both Reddit and XDA that Jelly Bean is officially available for the SGH-I747, a.k.a. the AT&T model. So far it’s unclear as to whether or not the update is available via over-the-air update from AT&T yet. As no one has confirmed success from OTA updates yet. This is a big update for your Galaxy S3, just in case the file size didn’t already tell you that. It includes Google Now, Expandable notific

Monday 23rd of January 2012 / androidauthority.com
Firmware is practically raining from the sky! After XXKP1 for Android 4.0 and XXKP2 for Android 4.0.1 were released, an all-new leak of Android 4.0.3 just recently hit the servers. Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100 users must be in heaven with this firmware, the XXKP8 for Android 4.0.3.Bear in mind that firmware version XXKP8 for Android 4.0.3 is not officially from Samsung Electronics. As such, there is no ETA for when this update will be officially pushed through Samsung KIES. Because this is a leaked version, it will also need to be updated through Odin and not Samsung KIES.For devices that are network-locked, users should be careful as there is no telling what the consequences are. This firmware still has some minor bugs but should be addressed and resolved in future updates.By applying this update, it will not root your Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100. But, if your devices has already been rooted, it will revoke root access.Requirements and Important NotesAs always, before updating, there is a list of things you’ll need to do to facilitate a smooth update process:Back up all the data
