4.1 jelly bean - Slide unlock till pattern lock gets activated after interval

Sunday 23rd of September 2012 / android.stackexchange.com
Using Jelly Bean, 4.1.1, on a Galaxy Nexus, I want this: You lock the phone. For the first 5 minutes, if you try to unlock, you can just slide and unlock it; after that, you have to enter a pattern.I don't know how to get the slide to unlock to be activated for the 5 minutes in the middle. I have it set up right now so that it unlocks right away in the first 5 minutes, and asks for the pattern after that. Is this even possible?

How to set a lock screen password or fingerprint scan on the Samsung Galaxy S5

/ feedproxy.google.com
By default, the Samsung Galaxy S5 just needs a little swipe to wake up from the lock screen, but anyone with even a tiny sense of security will want something more. The S5 offers a bunch of different ways to keep your device locked when not in useHow to set a fingerprint or password lock on the Samsung Galaxy S5Swipe down from the top of the screen and tap the settings gear icon in the top-right.Tap the Lock Screen icon that should be near the top, in the Quick Settings section.Tap the Screen Lock item at the top of the following screen. Tap the unlock mechanism you would like to use: swipe (a quick left-to-right gesture), pattern (where you draw a pattern on a 9-point grid which must be recreated to unlock), fingerprint (which uses the fingerprint-scanning home button at the bottom of the device), PIN number, or a regular text password. Each one of these methods have their own set-up process, which is presented in the following pop-up windows. Most methods will require you to enter the code twice, and sometimes you'll need to include an alternative password for when the primary me

My lock screen can't swipe to unlock anymore

Monday 14th of July 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
I own a Samsung Galaxy S4 Active Android & all of a sudden I wanted to change my unlock pattern to just a swipe on my lock screen. I tried to go into settings & change it but now it says turned off by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage. What can I do if anything to change this back to how it was before? Id like to have the options of an unlock pattern or just to swipe my screen to unlock it. Can you please help me? Thank you, Joanne Crespi

How to use Knock Code on the LG G3, and why you might want to

Thursday 07th of August 2014 / geek.com
LG has been doing some cool stuff with screen tech in the last few years, culminating with the QHD screen on the LG G3. The G3′s screen also supports a nifty feature that LG first demoed on the G Pro 2 several months ago called Knock Code.Knock Code lets you create a series of taps that will wake up and unlock your phone, bypassing the lock screen completely. Without the right pattern, the phone remains locked just like you had chosen a PIN or pattern lock. When you first see Knock Code, it seems like something that wouldn’t work, but it does, and it makes a lot of sense with LG’s industrial design decisions. All of LG’s recent non-Nexus phones have used rear-facing buttons. Like Knock Code, this looks weird, but it actually does work. The downside is that when the phone is sitting on a table, the power button is inaccessible without picking the device up. LG has also long since abandoned the physical home button Samsung is still clinging to with the Galaxy S5 that can be used to wake the phone. The seeds of Knock Code appeared in the last generation of devices
