Gaming on the Kyocera Rise

Monday 03rd of December 2012 / androidforums.com
We should use this thread for all gaming related things on this phone. I can confirm that the following work...- OnLive (touch buttons lag but if you remap your games to the keyboard you should be fine)- Dead Trigger (lag but not unplayable)- Shadowgun Deadzone (major lag and some force closings -then again this game is also in beta)- Blood & Glory (minor lag but very playable)The following Gameloft games play but all force close after a good minute of playtime- Gangstar West Coast- NOVA- Hero of SpartaThe following emulators work- Mupen64 Plus AE (Nintendo 64)I have yet to root my phone and try any Chainfire related tricks. Someone who has tried, please feel free to tell me how that goes. I will be adding to the list as time goes by. I'm also looking for games with cloud save support. My tablet is main portable android gaming device and I don't want this phone overshadowing that. Dead Trigger and Shadowgun Deadzone are great titles because I can share my saves. I wonder if Six Guns would be another cloud title.

How to root on a mac?

Tuesday 16th of April 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I use a mac, is it possible to root my Kyocera Rise from a mac? I see the guide for the KR provides the files but they don't work on a mac. I've tried the bat file (haha yeah I know) and the sh file but running the sh file doesn't cause my phone to reboot. It's like nothing happened. If anyone can help me out here I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Brittany

ThaDarkSid3, Kyocera Rise (Rooted)

Sunday 25th of August 2013 / androidforums.com
Hello. I guess I'm new to this. I learned basic computer programming on Windows 95. Since then, I've had every Windows version there is, and know my way around each of them. I went to school for web design and Computer Illustration. I do not know any code except for some html. I use a Kyocera Rise, and it is ROOTED. (even though everyone says the bootloaders are locked). (I used Poot Debug, and Ministro 2, combined with Superuser and busybox). My file system is FX File explorer with FX root update. FX is the BEST there is. In my opinion. I also use NEXT Launcher for my ICS. I think Next is also an excellent app. Anyway. I have been learning on my own , the lingo and verbiage that goes with rooting Android; luckily I have not had to write any code, since there are plenty of people who help provide it. I DO however have installed the ADT developer kit . I don't know how to use it. But I am going to learn one day. Soon hopefully. Because I am interested in making some apps , and maybe making my own code, to help others out. Meanwhile, I have many resources that I've scraped up
