[GUIDE]How to update HTC Wildfire S/Marvel/A510e/GSM to Software Version 2.3.5

Monday 20th of February 2012 / androidforums.com
As indicated by the thread title, this guide is for the Marvel / A510e / GSM version of the HTC Wildfire S. You can check this by going into bootloader as follows: Turn the phone off, pull the battery for 5 seconds, replace the battery, hold volume down and press the power button. You will see a white screen giving the details of your phone's hardware and software. DO NOT TRY THIS GUIDE IF IT SAYS MARVELC / A510C !!!It may work if you have an A510b, but it will de-brand your phone and change the model number to A510e. User Realaa was able to do it. Others have bricked their phones. Your call, but I'm not responsible for the results. Also, I'm assuming that you're here because you've already tried using HTC's FOTA (Firmware Over The Air) by going to Settings > About Phone > Software updates > Check now with no luck--you're still stuck with 2.3.3.Note: You need to have HTC Sync installed but not running. Open Task Manager and make sure it's not there. If it is, kill it. The reason we need HTC Sync installed is for the Wildfire S USB drivers that come with it. Also, make sure th

Sunday 27th of November 2011 / androidheadlines.com
With the times as tough as they are today it is no surprise that many people look to save money anywhere they can, and for many an easy savings is in their cell phone bill. Virgin Mobile has done a great job with their smartphone line up, bringing great handsets to their network, and recently they added the HTC Wildfire S for their customers. Sure, it may not be the most powerful Android handset to date, or have the largest screen, or the highest MP camera, but is that enough to write it off as a device entirely? Let's hit the break and check out some thoughts on the HTC Wildfire …Continue Reading HereHTC Wildfire S Mini Review (Virgin Mobile)Jared DiPane – androidcentral.com

How To Root HTC Wildfire S A510C CDMA Virgin Mobile!

Friday 08th of June 2012 / androidforums.com
First, I'd like to thank Chlinkchlink, Heritz (from XDA), and Superoneclick application for your help and original Root.zip File! Wouldn't work without this! I Finally found the perfect method to root this Virgin Mobile Device with S-On (Or OFF)! I Spent 3 days on my customers phone at my computer shop figuring a good method without read/write or freeze errors. I Simply EXTRACTED the SUPERUSER and ROOT files from SUPERONECLICK application and PASTED those files into the ROOT.ZIP File provided. Result? The ULTIMATE ROOT.ZIP MODIFICATION! Below are the methods.... Forget to mention... "I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICK/BREAK/THROUGH YOUR PHONE OUT THE WINDOW/ Etc!" That can only happen if you fail to backup your device or fail to read my steps and HTC Dev. Thanks and HAPPY ROOTING! Follow The HTC Dev method to unlock your bootloader. Sorry. Due to rules I am too new to submit links. Then install clockworkmod recovery like you would through adb on your computer. Download from attachment. make sure you Extract it!Place the clockworkrecovery image inside your Android Adb folder.

Looks like you will have to root it again mate...But your phone is S-OFF and it's a MarvelC.This guide is not the right one for you. This is ONLY for Marvel phones. The procedure for MarvelC phones is completely different. This is the right guide for ya. As far as I know there is not need to unlock the bootloader. Although it is possible, this guide is much simpler. MarvelC phones thend to give problems while unlocking[Tutorial] How to root CDMA wildfire s and s-off and other great tutorials - xda-developers
