How to bypass forgotten unlock code. (INSTRUCTIONS)

Friday 08th of January 2010 / droidforums.net
This happened to my Motorola Droid tonight. my friend got a hold of my phone andtried random pattern to unlock my phone. needless to say, my phone got locked out. ientered my gmail address and password but failed. here's the procedure to unlock without hard reset: 1) create a new gmail account on the computer.2) call your cell phone with a different phone. 3) answer your cell phone then hit the back button and it will take you to the homescreen.4) turn on wifi so it can do data and voice at the same time (remember that the phoneis still connected)5) go to Settings -> Location & Security and disable lock pattern (you'll need toenter to correct pattern previously set)6) go to Settings -> Accounts & Sync and click "Add Account" and add your newlycreated Gmail account.7) hang up the phone. 8) turn the phone back on, at the lockout screen, enter your new Gmail account infoand it should let you back in 9) once the phone is unlocked, you can go in setting and remove the newly added Gmailaccount and keep the old one.

Removing Lock Screen?

Wednesday 11th of November 2009 / talkandroid.com
I like how you can add the lock pattern, but if I have one in place, I have to go through the down-swipe lock screen, and then the lock pattern screen. Is there any way to remove the down-swipe lock screen so I only have to deal with the pattern lock screen?I hope this all made sense. Thanks!

Securing access to email to protect against a stolen phone

Wednesday 15th of September 2010 / droidforums.net
Is there a way to require a password to view your Gmail account?Using a pattern screen lock isn't the answer (reasons below), and the other screen lock types are pretty frustrating. I already use the pattern lock, but there are two problems:-If the phone is stolen (off a subway just as the doors close etc) while it's unlocked, it'll be accessible at least temporarily. (applies for any lock type actually)-Even if it's locked after it's stolen, the screen unlock pattern is easily defeated if you haven't 'wiped' your screen-- notice that the oils from your finger leave the unlock pattern right on the screen for any halfway intelligent scumbags to see. I don't give a rats if they access anything on the phone OTHER than mail, so a simple password requirement for gmail would be fine. But how?Changing the mail account (apparently) isn't an option since it was set up as the 'default' account and the Verizon tech neglected to tell me that (based on my research) only a factory reset can remove the email account from the phone. A lame solution (if that even works), obviously. Had I known this w

Remove Slide to Unlock

Friday 13th of August 2010 / droidforums.net
Does anyone know how to remove the slide so unlock? I don't like pressing the power/lock key then sliding to unlock the screen, then putting my pattern lock password in. I would rather just press the power/lock button to turn on and unlock the screen and then put my pattern in as the main unlock. Thanks in advance.

pin lock after encrypted certificate import - how to remove pin lock ??

Thursday 14th of March 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hi,I have imported encrypted certificate and in the process was requested to define pin code for the credential store. Little did I know that this will cause that every time I want to unlock my Note2 I will have to enter pin. When trying to change the way I unlock the phone I am only given choices to use even more advanced methods - pattern, pin and password. All other methods are disabled ( by administrator, who ever it is - the list of administrators is empty. So "swipe", "motion", "face"...and "none" options are disabled. It would be most helpful if anyone knows how to change back to swipe.I assume that this is all because of credential storage. There is an option to erase all certificates but I don't know if that applies to "all" or "all user certificates".I searched this forum, but alas, no answer.I'm with all this... hope someone help.

Editing the lock screen???? Can't??

Wednesday 11th of September 2013 / androidforums.com
I cannot figure out how to edit the lock screen. I'm used to putting a whole month calendar on my lock screens, and all I can do with my phone is change the unlock option from tap to "pattern" and whatnot. Any way to change the lockscreen widget to a calender, and perhaps remove the camera shortcut and put a flashlight shortcut?BTW this is the fastest flashlight app I've ever seen. Nearly instant-on for the LED.

Lock screen question

Tuesday 15th of October 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I have been using a pattern to unlock my phone when the screen turns off. All of a sudden I am now first having to swipe a picture that looks like a lock to the right and then use my pattern to unlock the phone. How do I get rid of the lock swipe so that I only have to draw my pattern? I have attached a pic of the lock screen I am trying to remove, not sure how it was turned on all of a sudden. Thanks
