Bluetooth and Navigation

Thursday 13th of October 2011 / androidforums.com
I am a new Samsung Galaxy S II user on AT&T. Love the phone. However there are a few problems including one that affects Navigation. I will try my best to explain, but I understand I might be using logical though improper terms to describe the problem. My phone pairs perfectly with my car's Bluetooth. The Navigation app 'voices' directions through the speaker EXCEPT when the phone is paired. Whereas a call will 'take over' my radio, the Navigation app does not. Again, the phone and Bluetooth are properly paired. Phone calls work perfectly via Bluetooth. The simplest way to fix this would be for Navigation not to associate itself with Bluetooth, but instead remain on the speaker. I can't see how to do that and assume it can't be done.Is there any way to make this work so I can hear directions?

Bluetooth Audio plays through phone speaker?

Thursday 14th of March 2013 / androidforums.com
Hi all, I have a samsung galaxy s2 on AT&T running android 4.0.4. I have the bluetooth set up to play audio through my car stereo.Everything was working fine until a couple of days ago when I accidentally booted my phone into safe mode. I re-booted it back into normal mode, but a lot of my settings got messed up after that happened. The odd thing is that now, when I am in my car, the phone connects to the stereo over bluetooth - I see the name of the song, artist, etc information on the car stereo, and can do things like skip to the next song using the controls in the car. However, the sound actually plays through the phone speaker instead of the car speakers!Any ideas how I can fix this? Thanks.

samsung galaxy s3 audio issue on some apps (netflix, twc t.v.)

Monday 24th of December 2012 / androidforums.com
my wife and i just purchased the s3 with the new jelly bean system and used to have the mesmerize. the problem that were both having is when we downloaded the netflix app and the time warner cable live t.v, app they both play the video but there is no sound at all you can adjust your media volume and still nothing. we un-installed and re-installed both apps and still the same problem on both phones. so i downloaded a radio app and it plays just fine so its not a phone speaker issue. has anyone else had this problem and how do u fix it? i have called samsung and netflix and have been told there are no alerts so they will get back to me.

Samsung Galaxy Mega SGH-i527?

Sunday 24th of November 2013 / androidforums.com
I lost my phone under the couch cushion and when I found it, It had a crack along the width of it. Everything below the crack doesn't work, which is about 3/4 of the length of the phone. I don't understand how that crack can affect it that much. Would a screen replacement even help? The phone is stuck on speaker phone but I can still talk on it. Please give me some ideas on what I can do to fix this. A screen replacement for this phone is $300 and that's not in my budget. But I have to use the Galaxy version of Siri and all of my texts have to be read out loud and I have to respond by speaking. My privacy is gone. Any help would be great. Thank you

No Audio on Samsung Galaxy S3-T999L

Monday 02nd of December 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Yesterday, I realized that no audio was working on my phone. No video, Instagram audio, Pandora, alarm clocks, ringtones, messaging tones, nothing works. I restarted my phone a few times last night, cleared the cache on a number of apps, cleaned out the audio input to remove any dust, and the sound finally started working. Today, the same thing happened, except now it's effecting my phone calls. When I call someone, the call appears to go through, but I can't hear anyone and the person I am calling can't hear me. So there is no sound at all. I've restarted the phone numerous times, cleared the cache on the device, and done virtually everything short of doing a factory reset. When I play a video and put the speaker up to my ear, it makes a slight noise, sort of like a white noise, so it sounds like the speaker still works, but nothing comes out of it. All volume settings are turned up, the blocking mode is off, and 'turn off all sounds' is not checked.I am using Android version 4.1.2. If anyone has any insight on how to fix this, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you!

Help with a Samsung Galaxy Centura speaker.

Sunday 08th of December 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I got a Samsung Galaxy Centura a few months ago, shortly after the speaker broke when I was listening to Pandora. A couple months passed, I didn't mind seeing how I could just use the headphone jack, I hit it on something and the speaker started working again. But it died again shortly after. What is a good way just to fix the speaker entirely so I don't have to go out and get a new phone? I highly dread getting a new one because I have a Blizzard mobile authenticator on it. So any help will be highly appreciated, thank you. c:

Sound problem

Wednesday 26th of February 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
Good evening, I'm new here!I have a Samsung Galaxy S3, I bought it from a friend with glass broken, it came with O.S 4.1.2. When I turn it off I don't have sound at all, I use to fix this problem with a call by pressing speaker button (like a manually audio start) then turn off the call, and the phone work as new. This have to do every time when the phone turned on/restart or anything like reboot system. The phone got the new update OS 4.3 same problem, and same solution for the sound problem Today I installed the OS 4.4 Kitkat and again no sound at all, the trick with the speaker button doesn't work anymore, but if I make a call and press speaker button I have sound but only in that call. The music player is running but there's no sound, videoclips are running just fine but in "mute" mode. I don't know how to turn on the sound manually like before. There's an app called Android Terminal Emulator like run command for window, some experienced users maybe know the command to turn on the sound. PS I'm desperate!

Bluetooth paired vs 2.5 chord sound night and day difference since update...

Thursday 03rd of July 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
I upgraded from some other phone to the Samsung Galaxy S5. I was having the same issue with my previous phone after whatever 4.# update. I have two different outdoor tech 2.0 wireless speakers I attach to my bicycle and use to listen to music/answer the phone while I cycle (i don't wear headphones while cycling). This was great until that update and the sound has been almost cut in half from what it was even with the bluetooth turned up all the way. (I tried lowering it and going back to max but that didn't fix it either) I thought it initially was an issue with the speaker but I have the same volume low sound in the other speaker while paired with my phone. When I tried using the headphone aux jack in the speaker and my phone playing the same song the sound is how it once was, MUCH louder and not a speaker problem... Going through all the audio settings/bluetooth on my phone I have no option to adjust the bluetooth any higher or use any affects to change it. Does anyone have a fix to this? I've just been using the aux cable now which is alright but I miss being able to use the butt

Volume drops low, triggering notification chime fixes it?

Sunday 17th of August 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
I have the following behavior with my Samsung Galaxy S5, Verizon, Stock. Short version: Sometimes volume is lower than normal (same point on slider bar means less volume)Notification beep from incoming mail or text will reset volumeWhy? How to avoid? Related to Google's Nannyverse "you're going to go deaf!"? Long version: I will notice that the volume is low - it seems too quiet, and when I use the rocker to turn the volume up, the perceived volume is not in line with where the slider is (e.g., let's say 1/2 is normally loud with my earbuds; when volume has dropped, 2/2 is not as loud as 1/2 usually is) This happens with both AUX (earbuds) and bluetooth (car stereo, also standalone speaker) outputs. The fix is to have the notification chime go off - either new mail or a new text message. When that sounds, it sounds at normal volume, and the speaker volume is immediately boosted back up. (So if I've got earbuds in, I'm clawing them out, because my music went from soft to loud). It's gotten to the point where I send myself a text message when I notice the volume is diminish
