Android Forums - View Single Post - Support how to edit contacts?

Tuesday 07th of May 2013 / androidforums.com
I just upgraded to this phone and since my old phone was so old, the guys at Radio Shack weren't able to transfer my contacts over via bluetooth. No big deal, I did it all manually, but I seem to be unable to edit them once I add them. For example, I added my sister and forgot to list her in the group Family. There is no way to go back to fix it. I spelled someone's name wrong and I can't fix that either. It seems to have imported my contacts from my Gmail account, but some are duplicates and I don't know how to combine them. I get to this contacts program by tapping the blue and white person icon next to the phone icon on the home screen. I kinda don't like it though, mainly because I don't know how to edit it, but also other little things, like if I fill in the person's company and title, it doesn't show me on the main screen, I have to tap it. And I don't know how to add photos to accompany each entry. Anyway, I was wondering if there is an alternate contacts app I could use instead, one that is more user-friendly.My last question is since this list is connected with my Gmail, can

How to get favorite contacts on home screen

Wednesday 21st of July 2010 / droidforums.net
I put this in the tech support section, but the question applies to this forum as well: I downloaded the new update for my phone yesterday, and it reverted all my main home screens back to the original. But, when I scroll over, the screen that used to list my favorite contacts is gone. I can't figure out how to get it back on there unless I start out with the original "Scene" and redo all my customizing. Is there a way I can add just that? I don't want the button to push that then opens up my group, I want my actual group on this screen. Thanks!

Favorite Contacts Widget

Tuesday 15th of April 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
I'm coming from the S3 which had a "Favorite Contacts Widget" that was a 3x3 grid that showed me 9 of my favorite contacts. With the S5 this widget is gone. I looked for one in the Play Store but none are as good as the one on the S3. Anyone have any ideas on how to find the S3 widget again? Thanks.

How to set favorite contacts on the Galaxy S5

/ feedproxy.google.com
If you have a lot of contacts, weeding through them to find a specific person or searching can be daunting. That's why most smartphones let you have a list of your favorite contacts. The Galaxy S5 is no exception. Here's how to add a contact to your favorites:Launch the Phone app on your Samsung Galaxy 5 and find the contact you'd like to set as a favorite.Open their contact card and tap the Star icon at the top of the card. This adds them to the Favorites tab. Now simply open the Favorites tab and you should see them added. Note that if you've already starred contacts in your Google contacts, they should already be marked as favorites on your Galaxy S5.By default the Samsung Galaxy S5 sorts your favorite contacts alphabetically. Unfortunately there is no current way to customize how they're displayed. Either way, it's much easier to look through a short list of favorites than your entire address book or recent calls section. If you're using Google to sync your contacts, your favorite contacts will also be synced to Google and available there as well.Do you use favorite contacts? I

How to edit contacts?

Thursday 03rd of July 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
I have 4.4.2 on a samsung galaxy note 10.1 2014. In the contacts app I can't edit contacts. If I create a new contact the pencil icon appears, but not on the ones I synced. Is this normal, or, is there a setting to allow me to edit synced files? I tested to see if I edited a contact on my iPhone and it change the contact on my tablet. Why #1 01ps said:Yesterday 11:06 PMI have 4.4.2 on a samsung galaxy note 10.1 2014. In the contacts app I can't edit contacts. Most of these were made in either outlook webmail or my iphone I'd that matters. I tested to see if I edited a contact on my iPhone and it did change the contact on my tablet. Why not the other way around? If not, this is very annoying since I can edit contacts on my iPhone and my computer and have them sync across platforms.
