16gb or 32gb version? Which do I need?

Sunday 11th of November 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
I have searched the net and even this forum and I can't find any feedback about which memory size someone should get for the Nexus 7, 16gb or 32gb. I just need something to be able to hold all my stuff. I got the iPad 3 32gb and let's just say I would have had a hard time living with a 16gb one. (But the ipad takes pictures and video which the N7 doesn't, so that saves space.) For just $50 more I could just double my space and let that be that. (No memory expansion on this thing as I recall.) But then, the Nexus 7 came out in July 2012 so that means probably next gen will come out about same time in 2013, which means a short life span before it becomes 'old' and loses much of its value.. (Yeah I got zapped on the ipad 3 in 7 months). So no doubt you need to know what I'm gonna be doing with it. Well no 'work related' stuff. Basically I'm just wanting to get my hands on my first android device. I don't know things like: how much space does 1 movie take up? I like to just download a bunch of apps and try them out. Also have to consider how much I would get out of it next year when new

More Memory?

Wednesday 21st of September 2011 / droidforums.net
How do I free up more memory. I have SS 5.5 installed and about 60 apps, most of which are on the SD card and I have about 27 meg free and often get "running out of space" errors when I update a program or 2. How do I free up more space?Do I need to put the ROM on a partition? And how do I do that?Is there anything I can go in and delete?

Best way to get more space on rooted stock GB - Link2sd?

Monday 22nd of August 2011 / androidforums.com
I'm one of those souls that thought it would be a good idea to install the HTC "official" 2.3.3 update on my non-rooted Desire, but have been very disappointed that my free internal memory has nose-dived since then, despite using the "install to SD" hack. I've deleted quite a few apps, but am still getting low memory warnings, despite frequently clearing caches. Therefore, I've now taken the plunge and rooted, and obtained S-OFF using Revolutionary. I'm now trying to work out the best way to use this get more space... If possible, I'd like to keep my "official" ROM. Can I do this, and use Link2SD to move the memory hogs that are still in internal memory to SD (GMaps updates, SwiftKey X and so on)? Is Link2SD likely to liberate significant amounts of memory? If not, (and I've read Getting more space: link2sd?), is flashing a new ROM with A2SD+ or a different partition table going to be a better solution? As I say, I'd like to keep my existing ROM if possible, to save going through a new learning curve on how to flash a new one (and I'm happy with the exis

How do I get more memory free??

Sunday 20th of June 2010 / androidforums.com
I am running bb froyo 2.2 and when i look at the advanced task killer app it ususally says i have about 35 megs free memory. If i kill the running apps (which is not many) it will jump to about 50 megs. I remember running bb v1.1 and having 80-90 megs free all the time. I though bb froyo was supposed to have 100 megs memory free at bootup and 50 free at all times Also, when i look at the phone storage is says 118 megs. I believe this is based on the 256 megs of internal storage the phone has. HOwever, i moved 90% of my apps to the sd card and i only gained a few megs of space. What gives with this??

Internal Memory

Thursday 12th of August 2010 / forums.androidcentral.com
Ok, my Eris is driving me nuts now.... It tells me I'm low on space even at 15% remaining (around 20mb) and subsequently won't let me install or sometimes even update apps until I make more room. What things are saved to internal memory and1) What things can be moved to the SD card2) What things can be deleted3) and how do I find them (I have Astro file manager - actually, I can get it, I had to remove it because I was "low on space") Can I change the setting so that I don't get the warning until 5% or so left? What can I do here?? I've found cache cleaning apps, but those are only for rooted phones and mine's not. I don't use the web that much anyway and can't find the cache folders using Astro. I'm getting this crap every day and it's about made me want to see what's inside this device, ya know what I mean?

How is the 16GB onboard memory allocated?

Friday 26th of August 2011 / forums.androidcentral.com
How is the 16GB onboard memory allocated? While I appreciate the walk through video's that always seem to be posted I get very irritated (yet I do appreciate the videos) that they do not show you the memory configuration. Sure it has 16GB of internal memory but HOW is it allocated. Do we get hosed like the Droid 3 with 2GB of app space or do we get more like the Droid X which just made the memory available for apps, general storage etc. So does anyone know?

Please help! Cleared data in gallery, now pictures in sd card won't show up!

Tuesday 19th of November 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Lately, I've been having problems with my memory on my Samsung Captivate Glide. I try to open my gallery, and it says "full, delete some items." I went under My Files, Android, Data, and found that com.cooliris.media was taking all of my space and when I kept trying to delete it, it would just fill up again. I looked online for help, people suggested dowloading QuikPic, so I did and told me I should go into Settings, Applications, Manage Apps, and went to Gallery. I "cleared data" because I thought all of my pictures were on my SD card or under DCIM. Now when I try to look at my pictures on my SD card, it says "no file", has a paint pallet by it, and says its size is 0. I have no idea what to do. I still cannot open my gallery, but now I can't access my photos either! I'm really worried I deleted all of them. I don't have my original USB cable or I would have transferred onto my pc. What can I do? 1. How do I get more space on my phone to open my gallery2. How do I either reverse the "clear data" in the gallery or restore my pictures3. Why does
