How Can I Root Generic Tablet?

Monday 20th of August 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
I have a generic Chinese tablet running Android 4.0.4. The only branding I can find on the box says "MID". The model number in the about screen is RK701. Does anyone know how I can get the info needed to root this device? I am attaching a photo of it. -JD

Hi to all, I am new to android hacking world and I need some general information in order to start hacking:- where can I find resources for hacking? such as guides for rooting a generic device, recovery, boot, etc.- I have a tablet, is the mediacom 810C and I want to try to get root permissions on it. How can I start doing it? what I need to get root permissions? can I make use of tools like Revolutionary?- once I got the root permission, I can change the system and put a new rom but, can I use any recovery such as Clockwork Mod recovery or Armor without care about the phone model? what about the boot image? - If I want to build from source my own rom, where can I find the drivers for my device? can I extract them from the stock rom?thanks to everybody

Hello, Rooting a Generic Android Tablet Called B-Pad

Monday 12th of November 2012 / androidtablets.net
Hello There everyone! my name is Paul and i just got a generic 7inch 2 Sim Tablet called B-Pad for my wife! See attached Picture! The tablet is OK for its price and runs on Gingerbread 2.3.6. However, the manufacturer locked the Network Mode to Edge only so browsing on it with your network provider is a drag! With WiFi its no problem! This is the reason i want to root the device so i can unlock the network mode and have faster browsing speeds. The speed is a major complaint from the wife and i need to sort it out fast to have some peace! lol! Any advice or pointers on how to root the device will be appreciated. The device specifications i could garner from the phone are as followsModel Number: M005Android Version: 2.3.6Baseband Version: MAUI.11AMD.W11.37.SP.V8, 2011/11/03 13:36Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7Build Number: ALPS.GB.FDD2.MP.V3.14Custom Build Version: release.V2.01

audio - How can I increase the maximum speaker volume?

Monday 13th of February 2012 / android.stackexchange.com
Is there a way, maybe even with root, to increase the maximum speaker volume?I own a Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet, which are known for their crappy and quiet speaker. There are ways to replace the speaker with another one. But I'd like to know a generic, not device related, software based method to increase the maximum volume on Android (if there is one).

Monday 06th of December 2010 / androidtablets.net
Hey kids, please bear with me, its a bit of a ramble. im and android noob (i hate that word so much), but no stranger to linux hence i thought this would be a much more simple task. but no joy.. I searched all over on how to root my MID M70003 Android tablet, its running 1.6 its got 128mb of ram, im pretty sure its generic to the bone.I find that every link on how to do this is on slatedroid.com, but for whatever reason slatedroid is down or just giving me nothin because it hates me.. i open the page but its empty. every page on slatedroid shows up but theres just no content beyond the top of the page... is it just me???so how on earth can i root it without instruction from slatedroid. if i search this forum for anything to do with rooting on my paticular pad i just go round in circles, no-body seems to have and answer, just the question.. so, how do i root my MID M70003?????or can i flash a new rom without rooting it first.. i.e can i just stick the right .script file containing the right rom for my device onto my sd card, reboot and enjoy... or not... from what i see i can get a pre

nd-100s support

Friday 24th of December 2010 / droidforums.net
Hi,My Android 2.2 tablet (generic Chinese no brand modeled after with same specs as the Apad 8) does not have an internal GPS so I bought a nd-100s GPS dongle. Since it is supported in Linux I thought it might be in Android too. No go. What I would like to do is take the Linix C source code for the driver and compile it on the device and see if that fixes the problem.I would be thankful if someone could point me in the right direction here. I use connectbot to get console access to the device but logging in as root really logs me in as user 10069 who has almost no privileges. How can I gain true root access, install gcc and make if it they aren't there, and build the driver. Thanks to anyone who can help!

Help with bricked generic tablet

Thursday 11th of July 2013 / androidforums.com
Hi!I was trying to root my "titan pc8008" tablet the other day. Being a noob i ended up screwing it up and now it when i turn it on i always gets stuck in the loading screen android os.When it worked i managed to have adb working properly (that's how i was doing the rooting). It never occurred to me to install cwm or make any kind of back up before tinkering with the device.I've done some research and manage to boot into a screen with a green android laying with a red triangle over it' belly. I think this is the stock recovery. The thing is the tablet doesn't have vol keys and the stock recovery screen doesn't show any options.I've tried pressing all kind of combinations with the keys the tablet has but nothing happens. Also, when im in the recovery screen i can do some adb commands like "adb reboot recovery" ,which takes me to the same screen, and "adb reboot-bootloader" which just powers off the device. "adb shell" says something about like it can't mount the file system. How can i flash cwm (or do anything) from this point?Btw, sorry for the lon

How do I root trio stealth g2 10.1?

Saturday 28th of December 2013 / androidforums.com
I figured this tablet was the best bang for the buck when i got it for $99Pros: it has a pretty good processor 1.5ghz dual core cortex a91gb of ram16GB of storage and a sd slot up to 32GBadequate gpuandroid 4.1.1front and rear camera10.1 inchesCons: the screen is low on resolution and you hav to look at it a certain way so you wont see a negative imagebattery life and charging station is pretty weak.it doesnt connect to my pc as a usb device, just as a media device (adb)but thats all that i can see thats wrong with it.oh and that it has little to no aftermarket support because its the most generic tablet out there.there is nothing about it on slatedroid forums or this one lol.alot of people, i would think will get the tablet because its a good deal.but how do you root it? i would think its going to be a much more tedious process than any other android device i had.this tablet has tons of potential, probably will rival the mainstream higher end devices if there was a way to root, flash roms, and customize kernals for overclocking. maybe a higher screen density.
