Capture currently displayed screen as a video for recording program demos to upload to YouTube or problem recreation.1) You can use it to create demonstration videos for any software program on your Android device. Or how about creating a set of videos answering your most frequently asked questions? 2) You can create video tutorials for school or college class 3)You can use it to record a recurring problem with your computer so you can show technical support people 4)You can use it to create video-based information products you can sell 5)You can even use it to record new tricks and techniques you discover on your favourite software program, before you forget themLink: Android Screen Video Capture

HTC One X hanging at android screen - newbie help?

Saturday 09th of June 2012 / androidforums.com
Hello, and apologies for being an utter newbie, but I recently bought an HTC One X in Bangkok, and after coming back to Berlin I found that the machine just get stuck at the android screen... It won't do anything at all after that.I found out later that apparently my "new" One X has already had ClockWorkMod recovery installed... Hmmm how new is this machine??I looked on the web, and did already try activating the recovery and loading into fastboot, but I have no idea how to "fastboot erase cache" on my computer - how do I even get the computer to detect the HTC One X, especially in this state??? And do I just do it at command prompt? I read quite a few posts and I'm utterly confused....Any help would be truly appreciated. Thanks!

Android 201: How to turn on USB debugging

Wednesday 17th of August 2011 / androidheadlines.com
Here’s one you see every now an then — like when you’re running a program that will root your phone without you doing any command line work. In a nutshell, USBdebugging is a method of opening up your phone to work with the Android SDK. You can have the SDKinstalled on your computer all you want — plugging in your phone won’t do anything with it until you’ve turned on USBdebugging. That’s also one of our favorite causes of facepalms around here. If you want to take screen shots using the Dalvik Debug Monitor (which is how we end up with those cool little icons…Continue Reading HereAndroid 201: How to turn on USB debuggingAlex Dobie – androidcentral.com

How to turn on phone without using power button (power button broken)

Thursday 30th of January 2014 / droidforums.net
Greetings! Is there a way to turn on the phone without using the power button? Like, plugging it to a computer and sending a signal to turn on the phone from an application (android dev tools or other)? For a reason I don't want to explain, the power button is broken on my phone (ok, I dropped it one time too many). I just hope it's the plastic button that is broken and not the actual "switch button" on the logic board. To replace the power button, I will eventually need to unplug the battery which will turn the phone down. In the eventuality that the power button is still not working after that, I would really appreciate to find a way to turn the phone on again and continue using it anyway (thanks to the "Smart Screen On" app, I still can turn the screen on and off).I also considered going to a place where they repair phones, but all the ones in my area (Montreal) are almost useless; they only do parts swapping if it does not take more than 5 minutes (all things I can do myself). So, if someone has an idea, please share because it would totally suck if I have buy ano

Operate your phone through the computer

Tuesday 11th of February 2014 / droidforums.net
A month or so back I saw an app that lets you operate your phone through your computer. You connect the phone through the USB and your phone is displayed on the monitor and you can type and use your mouse on your phone through your computer as if your tower is now the phone. I was looking for something totally different so I skipped it, but after thinking about it for a while, I found things that this would be a very useful app to have, but now I can not remember what it was called or how I found it in the first place. This is not an emulator (run android apps on your computer) this controls your phone through the USB cable. This is not a way to display your phone on a larger screen then you still hold your phone and control it with your finger, you actually plug your phone in and set it down and use your monitor, keyboard, and mouse to operate it. This is not a way to control your computer from your phone, I want a way to control my phone from my computer. If it helps: The picture on the app's site was of the phone in the foreground and the computer in the background with it tethered
