Friday 04th of January 2013 / android.stackexchange.com
My Android device screen got broken and I can't see what I'm doing. That's the only wrong thing with my device, the rest is apparently working OK. Is there any way to send my device screen to my computer?I don't want to work blindly anymore!

remote control - How can I explore my android from my computer

Saturday 29th of October 2011 / android.stackexchange.com
I'd like to explore the content of the internal memory.I have a rooted phone with a terminal emulator which allows me to navigate through it.The problem is that it's quite hard to use (small screen, no physical keyboard) and I cannot transfer files from internal memory to my computer to examine it (maybe memory -> sd and then sd -> computer but not the easiest). Is there a way to have a ssh daemon (I've ConnectBot but it's only a client) on the phone, control it with usb cable (with usb debugging maybe), install a backdoor (maybe no) or something like this ?Thanks

How can I view my phone's screen on a computer in real time?

Sunday 04th of March 2012 / android.stackexchange.com
Possible Duplicate: How do I project the screen of my android phone for a presentation? How to capture video stream from Android phone screen and show it on laptop? I have made a demo app and it's installed on my phone. I want to be able to show the app in action from my phone using a projector. The way I see this happening is if I can share my phone's screen with my laptop. Is there an app to help me do that? Note: The main reason for me not to use the Android device emulator is that it runs extremely slow and at 100% of CPU usage which I don't think is good for my laptop. I have a moderately spec-ed machine, and I need to find a why to do.

How to install Android SDK

Thursday 03rd of June 2010 / androidforums.com
How to install Android SDK on your Windows 7 ComputerI followed this excellent guide to install Android SDK on my computer, but the guide assumes a lot of things and it didn't go into the detail I needed. After 2 days of struggling I was finally able to get it working. Hopefully you can learn from the pitfalls I went through and it won't be nearly as challenging for you to install. My instructions are going to be basic and over simplified - sort of like SDK for Dummies. The reason I'm saying this is for installing on a Windows 7 computer is because the screen shots and the information that follows will be from Windows 7. The guide that I followed and linked above had instructions based on Windows XP.Before you get started, you will need to download two pieces of software; the Java SDK and the Android SDK. Here are the links:The Android software development kit (SDK)The Java SE software development kit (SDK)

Capture currently displayed screen as a video for recording program demos to upload to YouTube or problem recreation.1) You can use it to create demonstration videos for any software program on your Android device. Or how about creating a set of videos answering your most frequently asked questions? 2) You can create video tutorials for school or college class 3)You can use it to record a recurring problem with your computer so you can show technical support people 4)You can use it to create video-based information products you can sell 5)You can even use it to record new tricks and techniques you discover on your favourite software program, before you forget themLink: Android Screen Video Capture

HTC One X hanging at android screen - newbie help?

Saturday 09th of June 2012 / androidforums.com
Hello, and apologies for being an utter newbie, but I recently bought an HTC One X in Bangkok, and after coming back to Berlin I found that the machine just get stuck at the android screen... It won't do anything at all after that.I found out later that apparently my "new" One X has already had ClockWorkMod recovery installed... Hmmm how new is this machine??I looked on the web, and did already try activating the recovery and loading into fastboot, but I have no idea how to "fastboot erase cache" on my computer - how do I even get the computer to detect the HTC One X, especially in this state??? And do I just do it at command prompt? I read quite a few posts and I'm utterly confused....Any help would be truly appreciated. Thanks!

Android 201: How to turn on USB debugging

Wednesday 17th of August 2011 / androidheadlines.com
Here’s one you see every now an then — like when you’re running a program that will root your phone without you doing any command line work. In a nutshell, USBdebugging is a method of opening up your phone to work with the Android SDK. You can have the SDKinstalled on your computer all you want — plugging in your phone won’t do anything with it until you’ve turned on USBdebugging. That’s also one of our favorite causes of facepalms around here. If you want to take screen shots using the Dalvik Debug Monitor (which is how we end up with those cool little icons…Continue Reading HereAndroid 201: How to turn on USB debuggingAlex Dobie – androidcentral.com
