Help with a Samsung Galaxy Centura

Saturday 22nd of June 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
So, I recently got Straight Talk's Centura. But, there's something I'm really confused about. Whenever I plug my phone into my computer, instead showing up like it should, it just shows up as a portable device. The only options I have are to view the files in Windows Explorer (the folder is empty) or to sync files via Windows Media Player (when it opens WMP, it doesn't show as a device on the right side.) Does anyone know what to do? I just want to add music to my phone. Any help would be insanely appreciated. Thank you!

Data Connection Help

Sunday 14th of July 2013 / androidforums.com
I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Centura with prepaid Straight Talk service. The problem is my data connection is slower than what it should be. I get 3g with full signal in my area, and it downloads at an average of only 15kb/s. My previous phone through Straight Talk was a Samsung Galaxy Proclaim, a much similar phone, and it would download at 100kb/s in the same area with 3g as well. I rooted it and changed the DNS to GoogleDNS and its not showing any real difference. Something seems not right about it. Any tips? Are there more effective DNS servers that I could use? Thanks for any help.

Time Keeps Changing Despite Settings

Monday 15th of July 2013 / androidforums.com
Hello all, and thank you in advance for your help. I, like a significant number of others am having some issues with the clock/time on my android phone. I have been searching for a couple weeks and have not found anythign else that really addresses the problem I am having. The phone is a Samsung Galaxy Centura from Straight Talk, connecting through Verizon towers. For whatever reason, the clock on my phone is occasionally being set to a time exactly 5 hour earlier than the correct time for my time zone (currently eastern daylight time). In fact, this is what the phone displayed when it was first activated in late June. I manually changed the time, and ever since, it seems to want to go back to that incorrect time, 5 hour early. As of yet, I cannot tie the time change to any specific time or to any action I am taking. Sometime it will go several days without doing it, and other times it will do it multiple times in one day. I have tried every combination of settings for "Automatic date & time" and "Automatic time zone," but none of those setting being on or off s

Ok, I already have a samsung rush on the boost network. It works fine for me so far. Of course I am going to root it shortly, then mess with it till I brick it so I can get me something better. Anyway, Of course now the sig. other wants one. But she insists on the net 10 network over the boost. Thats what she wants and thats really the only thing I have to work around, that and the case color. But she is gonna get that herself. Anyway, the Rush has a 1000 MHz processor and the Centura has a 800MHz. Other than that they are just about identical. How much of a performance decrease will she see? Will it be a total slug, or is it still a decent phone? I really want to stick with samsung galaxy phones right now, and this is the only net10 phone in the price range of under 150 dollars that I can find on the net 10 site. The reason I want to stick with the samsung phones right now is for the online forum support. And the proven company. A few other questions are, the net 10 site lists all kinds of phones, but when you punch in my area code 70607, it reduces the amount of phones. Why is thi

Samsung Galaxy Centura (SCH-S738C) HELP!

Sunday 03rd of November 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I'm new to android central and I've had my phone now for about a month and 2 weeks. About the first 3 weeks with the phone google play and youtube were basically useless, always connection time outs and just nothing working, youtube videos playing for 2 secs buffering for like a min then play for another two mins. I decided to do a factory data reset and that fixed it but it was a pain with getting back my apps pictures etc. It has been about days since i did the factory data reset and google play is slow and so is youtube. I watched a 37min video on youtube 2 days ago and it ran so smoothly now its just horribly, it works fine on wifi but I really don't want to do a factory data reset again, i tried clearing the cache and changing the time but nothing works please help!!!!! PS. Is it possible that i can upgrade to Jellybean 4.3 or even Kitkat ?

Help with a Samsung Galaxy Centura speaker.

Sunday 08th of December 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I got a Samsung Galaxy Centura a few months ago, shortly after the speaker broke when I was listening to Pandora. A couple months passed, I didn't mind seeing how I could just use the headphone jack, I hit it on something and the speaker started working again. But it died again shortly after. What is a good way just to fix the speaker entirely so I don't have to go out and get a new phone? I highly dread getting a new one because I have a Blizzard mobile authenticator on it. So any help will be highly appreciated, thank you. c:
