I'm having a bit of a problem

Saturday 27th of October 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
So I tried to manually update to Jelly Bean and after I put the file on my external SD card, I disconnected my S3 from my computer and when I went to put it into the stock recovery mode (or whatever its called, where you use the volume keys to pick an option) and when I do that, a screen comes up saying "Warning A custom OS can cause critical problems in phone and installed applications. If you want to install a custom OS, press volume up key. Otherwise press the volume down key to cancel." If I press volume up, it just says downloading... Do not turn off target. It is not a typical screen when going into stock recovery mode (which is what I think its called, Sorry for sounding uneducated about this I just forgot the name for it). Can someone help me on how to manually update and how to get the screen to go away? P.S. When I click volume up to install the update, it says that it is in ODIN MODE in red letters at the top right then it says, in white, product name: SPH-L710, custom binary download:No, current binary:Samsung Official, system status:Official then under that in

Need Help! Phone will not boot past Samsung Logo

Saturday 13th of July 2013 / androidforums.com
Need some help. I have a Samsung Stratosphere that is stuck in a boot loop. It has never been rooted and has always run the stock ROM. My daughter said it turned off on it own and now it just shows the Samsung logo, shuts off, and comes back on again, shows Samsung logo, shuts off, etc. It will continue to do this over an over until you take the battery out. As soon as you put the battery back in, it will start to power up without pressing any of the buttons and cycle through the Samsung logo.I was just going to do to a hard reset by putting the phone in fastboot and do a factory reset. However, when I hold the power key, up and down key, they phone show the yellow box but before it can go into fastboot to use the up and down key to select factory reset, the phone shuts off and starts the Samsung logo cycle thing. If I hold the down key, the phone shows a screen that says, "Warning!! A custom OS can cause critical problems in phone and installed applications. If you want to download a custom OS, press the volume up key. Otherwise, press the volume down key to cancel." No mat

Help! Warning!! A custom OS can cause critical problems...

Friday 25th of October 2013 / androidforums.com
I've looked around this forum and others and can't find a solution to my problem. I tried to restart my Samsung Galaxy S4 today and it came up with the: "Warning!! A custom OS can cause critical problems..." screen. I have tried pressing the volume keys as the message describes, and also tried holding down Volume Up/Down, the power button and the home button, which people have suggested would work. This just turns the screen blank, until I let go and the phone vibrates and returns itself to the Warning screen. I have never tried rooting my phone and it had been working fine until today. Anyone got any suggestions or should I get in touch with my insurance/ network/ Samsung?

need help with GT-S7560M

Sunday 29th of December 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hi guys, let me start by saying I'm not very tech savvy. I bought a backup phone after my sister misplaced her phone. When her's later turned up she returned the phone I had purchased to me and it was quickly forgotten. Now I need to use it and she doesn't remember what she set the password as. The phone is a GT-S7560M I have googled how to factory reset it and was told to hold the vol up, home, and power keys. When I do this the screen lights up for a moment then goes dark again. if I keep holding and waiting for the samsung logo to appear nothing happens, if I release the buttons when the screen flashes it starts up normally and takes me to the screen where it asks for my password. If I hold the vol down button, home, power, then release when the screen flashes it takes me to a screen that says: Warning!!A custom OS can cause critical problems in a phone and installed applications. If you want to download a custom OS, press the volume up key.Otherwise, press the volume down key to cancel. Volume up: ContinueVolume down: Cancel (restart phone) SInce restarting the phone only takes m
