Google+ Circles Now Available in Google Voice

Friday 24th of February 2012 / talkandroid.com
A cool new feature has been added to Google Voice for users of Google+. You can now use your Circles as custom groups in your Google Voice account. What does that mean? Google Software Engineer Tom Ford explains it in his blog post://To help make it even easier for you to organize your contacts, today we’re adding Google+ Circles to Google Voice. Circles give you more control over how you manage your callers; for example, calls from your “Creepers” circle can be sent straight to Voicemail, only your “College Buddies” circle will hear you rap your voicemail greeting, or you can set your “Family” circle to only ring your mobile phone. All you have to do is log in to your Google Voice account and go to the Groups and Circles tab to see all your Google+ Circles. You can then edit each one to suit your needs for that group. Pretty simple and powerful. So do you have any Circles that need to always go directly to voice mail? Yeah, I thought so. Infuse not making calls via Google Voice

Wednesday 13th of July 2011 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hi, I just installed the GV app on my Infuse. It is set to use GV to make all calls. However, when I go to the phone dialer and dial a number, it uses my mobile phone number to do so. After reading the GV help site, I got the impression that the GV app somehow integrates with the phone dialer so that it will show my GV number on the call recipients caller ID, possibly by calling a Google number to route the call instead of dialing the number directly. I have tried all of the various settings in the "Making calls" section of the GV app settings, and have power-cycled the phone, but nothing seems to change the behavior of the dialer. Am I misunderstanding this functionality? Is the "use GV to make calls" setting only for clicking on phone numbers in web pages or something? GV voicemail routing is working fine, in case that matters. Thanks in advance, Brian

Setting a contact to go directly to voicemail??

Wednesday 02nd of June 2010 / talkandroid.com
On the android 1.5 platform u were able to click a box in each individual contact if u wanted to send there phone calls directly to voicemail. I recently updated to the 2.1 platform and I know longer see this option. Is there anyway to retrieve this option or is there an app that I can download to accomplish the same thing? I really depended on this feature, to be able to screen certain calls and it stinks that I don't have it anymore. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Samsung Momnet - Sprint

Not receiving one contact's calls?

Wednesday 23rd of February 2011 / droidforums.net
I'm having a strange issue with my OG Droid. I have no idea whether this is a Droid issue, a Verizon issue, or a Google Voice isssue, but for some reason my phone is NOT showing any calls from this one contact. She says her calls go directly to my voicemail, and if she leaves one, I get the usual SMS notification, but no ringing, vibrate, incoming call screen or missed call notification. I have tried removing her from my Google account, and the issue persists. Is there some way I could have accidently blocked someone in this fashion on either the Droid or Google Voice? I suppose I could bring it to Verizon and ask them, since both phones are Verizon (shes got a Droid Pro), but my phone is rooted so I don't know how much help they would be, which is usually not much anyways. So any ideas?

Need Help ASAP. Cannot contact son at college

Wednesday 17th of August 2011 / android.net
Today we dropped our son off at UIC in Chicago. Both my son and I have a Nexus one phone and despite a status of full signal strength both phones cannot send text messages or makes call in most cases. Incomming calls go directly to voicemail after 2 rings. All outgoing calls result in a busy signal. Occasionally one call/text will slip through but its like in 6 tries only one sucessful connection. My wife was with us and she has a simple Samsung strive and does not have any problems. Our carrier is ATT and contacting them was useless. I am wondering why the "dumb" samsung strive has no issues and the "smart" nexus one phones will not work in his dorm. All ATT said about this was it is a problem with the device and that they have very good coverage there, thats not much help.To be clear all 3 phones are on the same plan/network (ATT).

Not receiving all calls??

Thursday 01st of August 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
So I have been told by my dad and a friend that they have called me and heard my phone ring and go to voicemail - but I never received a call OR missed call. In both circumstances I had my phone either on my lap or directly in front of me on the table, but I never heard it ring. I'm not sure how many times this has happened, but both times I'm aware of, the call was important. So I'm a bit frustrated. Any idea what is going on? I'm completely new to smartphones and have only had this one for a few weeks. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Droid 2 Global touch screen not responding.

Thursday 07th of November 2013 / droidforums.net
Hi, I'm a little new here and thought someone could help me out. I love my droid but recently the touch has stopped working. I've done almost everything to try and fix it. I've taken the battery out and waited a bit. I've deleted my apps ive downloaded. I dont want to hard reset cuz then i wouldnt be able to get into my phone at all. I use a magnet to unlock it and at least can text. Cannot look at my email tho or my contacts. They just close when I try. Also my calls go directly to my voicemail and dont even show up when I get one. Not sure what it could be thats causing it. I cant afford to get it fixed or for a new phone either. I have enough with just the monthly bill. This whole thing is getting me stressed with just trying to use it. ><
