GPS issues on Nexus 7 2nd Gen

Friday 09th of August 2013 / androidforums.com
Hey all!Bought my first tablet a few days ago after owning an android phone past couple years. It is amazing, but the GPS chip seems to randomly stop working, although it is activated. I bought the tablet for back country navigation, as my phone requires the mobile network chip to activate if I want the GPS chip.Ive done several tracks using Backcountry Navigator Pro, and the GPS chip stops working until I do a reboot. Longest it worked was about 20 mins, the shortest probably under a minute. Same problem using GPS Status app.I work at a National Park, so have no need for Google Maps. Havnt even used it, so not 100% sure if it is app, OS or hardware related.I look forward to learning more about this tablet and our community!Edit: BTW - activating the GPS chip is a real pain in the arse. I get spammed to agree to Google's location junk.Cheers!

Sync iTunes video and music files to Nexus 7 2nd Gen for watching without DRM trouble

Monday 26th of August 2013 / androidtablets.net
The Nexus 7 2 is the best small tablet you can buy. It houses a ridiculously sharp, bright screen, its gaming performance is second only to the fourth-generation iPad, and as a Google-branded tablet it will always see the latest version of Android before any other tablet brand.Except taking tablet for playing games, many people also like to watch movies on Nexus 7 2 tablet. But, have you tried to put and play iTunes movies on Nexus 7 2? The process won't be smooth. Because, iTunes movies are protected by Apple's Fairplay DRM protection. Nexus 7 2 doesn't have a license to play iTunes contents. As for playing itunes videos on Nexus 7 2, you need a program which is able to remove iTunes DRM protection as well as converting them to MP4 which Nexus 7 2 natively supports. So it’s necessary for your to choose a DRM video converter. Pavtube ChewTune is highly recommended. Which is professional in dealing with kinds of DRM protected movies. Including iTunes HD movies/TV shows, Blu-ray/DVD digital copies, Amazon instant videos, and other digital movies. Try to test it to check if it is

Personal Review - amFilm Bye-Bye Bubble Screen Protector for Nexus 7 2nd Gen

Wednesday 23rd of October 2013 / androidforums.com
I was doing some online shopping last week for my new Nexus 7 2nd Gen and wanted to get a screen protector since I used my tablet a lot for work. I have used protectors in the past, but wanted something just a little better than what I had used before. In the past it seemed like no matter how hard I tried, there would still be dust trapped underneath or it would go on uneven. So I looked around for something new and better. Well, I found it!!The amFilm Bye-Bye Bubble HD Clear Screen Protector came in a pack of 1 and came with install instructions, a cleaning cloth, dust stickers and overall pretty nice packaging. I used the included cloth to clean my screen before applying. The application was easy and I only had a single bubble to get rid of, which was very easy to get rid of with the removal card compared to other sp's I have tried for my other devices. The SP went down differently than others I've used, sort of a fluid like motion even though its not wet at all, it was really cool! The price is great for the quality - $8.95 to protect my screen is a nice value! On top of it, I can

Nexus 7 (2nd gen) wifi issues?

Sunday 03rd of November 2013 / androidforums.com
I just won (ebay) a nexus 7 (2nd gen) 32GB Wifi. I've been reading on bad wifi issues with the nexus 7 (slow connections). Is this something that has been corrected in a software/firmware fix? Is it a general issue or is it a hardware issue that varies from device to device? Just hoping i don't have this issue when i receive the device.thanks...

Cannot find local profile picture on Nexus 7 - 1st Gen)

Wednesday 22nd of January 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
About a month ago, I used my Nexus 7 (1st Gen model updated to KitKat) to take a photo with the (only) front cam by using the "take new profile picture" function . Not an ideal situation but but I was in a pinch. I think i took two pics this way and was dismayed that second seemed to overwrite/replace the first without the first being saved anywhere i could see. Unfortunately, despite the pull down settings and the linked local Google Plus contact card displaying the second picture, I can't locate it anywhere on my Nexus 7. I don't use syncing so I don't think it's been exported, and this is supported by the fact that my Google and Google Plus accounts still display a very old profile pic, even if I access them through the aforementioned contact card. But this is a digression, it was a special moment that I captured and I'd like to be able to use and share the pic in an album. My previous couple of local profile pics can be found on my Internal Storage/ DCIM/ Camera folder, named ContactPhoto-IMG_20130408_etc and ContactPhoto-IMG_20131130_etc etc and thumbnails for them in

Friday 31st of January 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hi I wanted to know if the nexus 7 2nd gen 2013 will work on my router? My router is a NetGear Wireless-N 300 Router w/DSL Modem and it has WPA2 security. The reason that i'm asking is because im close to purchasing it. And i just found out that my ds lite can't connect to router too, because it will only connect if router is WEP security.I'm a beginner with all this tech stuff.I just wanna know if nexus 7 2nd gen will work on my router. Wallpaper/Background Nexus 7 (2nd Gen) Question

Saturday 08th of February 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
Sorry everywhere I read from old posts is that there is a problem with the wallpaper zooming in. I just bought a Nexus 7 (2nd gen) and now I'm having this problem as well. Is there any fix to it or work around? I would like to have a nice background but it just zooms in on the background, very frustrating.
