Android 4.3 Confirmed Coming 'Very Soon' to the Google Edition Galaxy S4

Thursday 27th of June 2013 / androidspin.com
Little bit of news just came out of SamMobile, in which the newly released Google Edition Galaxy S4 will be getting Android 4.3 “very soon”. Samsung currently is testing an Android 4.3 build, but we also have been hearing that Nexus 4s and 7s, have also been testing builds as well. So I am thinking Android 4.3 is going to be showing its face in the next couple weeks, and the Nexus devices, as well as the Google Edition devices, will get it right as it drops. Both the GE S4, and HTC One, came loaded with Android 4.2.2, so there will be a simple jump to get to 4.3. Hopefully you guys picked one up already, and we will keep you posted on what information we receive.Source: SamMobile

Hands-on with leaked Android 4.3 ROM for the Google edition Galaxy S4

Friday 28th of June 2013 / feedproxy.google.com
First glimpse of the next version of Android looks a lot like what's come beforeThere's a leaked Android 4.3 Jelly Bean ROM out in the wild this morning, in the form of a pre-release build for the 'Google Play edition' Galaxy S4. It's also been ported to the European LTE Galaxy S4 (GT-i9505) in the form of a custom ROM, courtesy of the original source of the leak, Samsung fansite SamMobile. We've fired up that ROM on our European GS4 and shot a quick hands-on video, giving an early glimpse of the next version of Android. And, well, it looks an awful lot like the current version of Android, supporting earlier reports that 4.3's changes are mostly under-the-hood, rather than user-facing. That means for the most part, we're dealing with the same user experience found on the current Google Play edition GS4.Check out our video after the break.

Android 4.3 ROMs for Google Edition Galaxy S4 and HTC One leak

Friday 28th of June 2013 / geek.com
Some early adopters who rushed out to buy the Galaxy S4 and HTC One are no doubt wishing they’d held off and purchased the Google Edition phones instead. Well, you can kiss your buyer’s remorse goodbye: Google Edition ROMs with vanilla Android 4.3 for both are now available to download. The ROM kitchen over at TrickDroid has cooked up the Google Edition HTC One firmware. It brings a stock Android experience (so long, Sense!) to HTC’s new flagship smartphone. Feedback so far has been overwhelmingly positive, and there doesn’t appear to be any major bugs to report.Meanwhile, the team at Sammobile claim to have an early 4.3 build for the Samsung Galaxy S4. They claim that this is from a Google Play Edition variant of the S4, and the build is completely functional when tested on other Galaxy S4′s, but there’s no way to verify the validity of the claim. Since Google has not yet announced Android 4.3, and it doesn’t seem that there are any significant changes to the OS, this could well be a very clever fake with an edited build.prop to say 4.3. Even

no spell checking in Google Play Edition Galaxy S4?

Tuesday 30th of July 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hi, All -- I'm seeing something odd on my new Google Play Edition Galaxy S4: on the Nexus phones I've used, misspelled words entered in text-editing apps (like Gmail) are underlined in red. This isn't happening with my Google Play Edition phone. Are others having the same experience? I'm really frustrated with this missing functionality -- I'd come to rely on Android's spell checking.
