2.3 gingerbread - Power button not working. Phone wont boot?

Saturday 08th of September 2012 / android.stackexchange.com
I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace GTS 5830i. I somehow messed up the power button of my phone and now after the battery drained completely, It will not start. I tried looking up online for going into recovery mode (without using the power button) i.e keeping home key pressed while inserting the charging but nothing works. Finally, I thought I must have an option to boot up my phone through Eclipse DDMS but I cant find any option there either (See screenshot)Please help.EDIT : Thanks to the answer by Sparx, I have solved this problem. Connect the phone via USB to your computer. If you have installed the Android SDK, go in the android-tools folder and execute adb devices (if on a mac, run ./adb devices)If your devices shows up in the list run ./adb reboot

going into recovery mode on start up

Sunday 09th of January 2011 / forums.androidcentral.com
I was playing around with some roms and the last one put my phone into a boot loop so I did a batt pull and got into the recovery mode then I restored back to stock rom from my last backup. Everything went good. I then used z4root and unrooted then I unistalled bootstrapper. So now when I turn my phone off at night and back on in the morning it goes into recover mode. I have to select reboot phone then um good again. No last night I turns off the phone and and put it in my dock then instead of showing me the battery it went into recovery mode again. Now im sure its no soposed to do that any more. Pleas help me.

Apps Safe To Remove

Saturday 03rd of March 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
So now that we got a working recovery I'm feeling a little ballsy for another en minutes or so anyways I wanted to start this list of apps that I've removed without my phone going into a boot loop. I also wiped cache after all this. Make sure you make a backup before you start deleting things. One of the big reasons is you might soft brick your device and have no way to restore and you'll end up like certain people looking foolish saying, "I bricked my phone can you post this apk" also some of the sprint hiddden menu stuff can be removed but it will remove your ability to use diag mode or certain hidden menusIf your wondering how I deleted these apks I used es file explorer but you can also use adb shell or terminal S w_installer.apk .odex (sprint id stuff)visual voicemailprotips.apk .odex (widget on your homescreen with tips)Polarisoffice.apk odexSmartshare.apk odex maps.apk .odex (google maps)Street.apk .odex (streetview on google maps)LiveWallpapers.apk odexLiveWallpaperPicker.apk odexMagicSmokeWallpapers.apk odexVisualizationsWallpapers.apk .odexSwype.apk * BOOST SP

Unrooting confusion, please help!

Tuesday 27th of March 2012 / droidforums.net
Alright guys im not big into rooting and i need a lil help and a lot of patience. I recently bought a used RAZR and was able to obtain insurance through verizon on it. I really dont care to have it rooted and would prefer to be able to unroot it in case i need to use my insurance. My phone currently gives me the option to go into recovery mode by hitting menu at the start up screen and is using Safestrap V. 1.07. It has SuperUser installed. My problem is 1) i dont know how to delete safestrap. it doesnt appear in my app list, and using superuser and ES file explorer i dont see it anywhere in the directory. I assume its on the stock rom already as it has all the verizon bloatware on it and seems stock. (the text icon is a smiley face instead of looking like mail tho.) Problem 2 is after going into recovery mode it tells me theres a Nandroid back up that was saved to the external SD, however my phone didnt come with the SD card and theres no back up on the one i put in it. So, is it safe to simply delete safe strap then SuperUser, then all the su files that leave evidence of being root

Cm7/twrp 2.0

Sunday 04th of March 2012 / androidforums.com
So, the big problem that I'm having at the moment is the use of TWRP. Yes I know that the all might developers over a the XDA forums have a guide but nothing answers my question or comes close to answering it lol. My problem is that I went back in like a ****** and tried to flash over CM7 Stock ROM instead of Going in and downloading the ROM for an already used version of CM7. I had gone back to using the Stock layout with Go Launcher and kept CM7 on SD so I could Flash it when ever I wanted to. Now was this a bad idea on my part? Cuz I'm officially stuck boot loop and kept getting rebooted into recovery mode every time now. Is there a way to fix that straight from TWRP or do I need to adb it from my computer and do the bootmode 4000 command again? Is it also possible to load up all my apps, data, and saves once I get the newer version of CM7 running without having to start over? If so please help Thanks!

Lost Recovery

Friday 07th of June 2013 / androidforums.com
Hello, I need some help. Ok so I was back on Collab 3.0.1 and had this brilliant idea on a way to boost up the volume on CM10. I was going to restore my PG backup and connect to QPST. Qpst has some volume tabs. Anyways, I went into recovery like always, backed up my collab and tried restoring PG. It failed, I figured it was because the recovery is different on PG's build. So I went ahead and flashed a fresh one. Everything went in fine. Hooked up to QPST put everything to the top volume level. For some reason I installed 2nd init and tried to go to recovery from there. I know, I can go into recovery from the power menu, I just can't remember why I did what i did. So I tried the 2nd init app and I got the dreaded Morning Call. I pulled the battery and rebooted. Booted up fine and I uninstalled the app. I tried to go into the recovery by using the power button, but I got morning call empty again. This time I pulled the battery and went into emergency mode. I figured I should just unbrick and start all over again, but I can't unbrick. I tried different firmware versions and they fail to

Major trouble with iCraig CLP285 Netbook

Saturday 02nd of November 2013 / androidforums.com
I have a 3 month old iCraig CLP285 Netbook with Android 4.1 that I really like.Suddenly, it will not boot up. Finally got it started and there were major changes: all my email was gone as was data stored in Notebook app. My desktop photo was gone, but when I click on the album that contains the photo I want, it sends me back to the app page. Also, all my photos seem to have uploaded into Dropbox as a Camera Upload, even though I did not do it.And, altho WiFi was turned on - it did not show this on the notification area.Later that night when I tried to use my PC, the DSL had to be rebooted. Never had to do THAT in 5 years! After much reading and about 6 attempts to start the unit, I got in and went to System recovery and did a factory reset. Little Andy had a blue gizmo twirling in his stomach, then it said it was going to reboot. After 15 minutes, screen was still scrolling green through Jelly Bean so I hit reset button on bottom of unit. It went into recovery mode again and now shows Andy on his back with a red triangle and exclamation point. This is a Netbook - not a tablet or phone.
