The 16 GB Samsung Galaxy S4 Only Comes with 9 GB User-Available Storage

Tuesday 30th of April 2013 / android.gs
In case you are smartphone user, that is must know that, even though the a device is announced as having a number of GB of internal storage available, it doesn’t mean that you call use the whole amount of space. The difference between the marketed about of storage space and the one actually available to the owner is due to the Android operating system (which occupies a part of the storage space), and all the applications that come pre-installed when you buy the smartphone. And considering that the list of applications and features of the Samsung Galaxy S4 is pretty large, then you can realize by yourself that you won’t be using an important part of its on-board storage.According to online publication Geek, the customers who are planning to buy the 16 GB Galaxy S4 will only be able to use 8.82 GB of the entire on-board storage. In other words, only a bit more than half will be at your disposal. So, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean alone occupies around 2 GB, while the rest of the space is took by the applications and features. It must be very frustrating to buy a smartphone and 45

Samsung About Limited Galaxy S4 Storage: Deal With It, There’s a MicroSD Slot

Friday 03rd of May 2013 / androidheadlines.com
We recently heard that the Samsung Galaxy S4 is plagued with a lot of bloatware, at least that’s the only real explanation for how much internal storage is used up. In the 16GB Galaxy S4 model, there’s only about 9GB of usable space left. Samsung’s TouchWiz system and its related apps take up nearly 7GB of space. Some people are okay with TouchWiz and that’s fine, but for those who aren’t okay with it 7GB is quite excessive. When people found out how much space was used by TouchWiz in the Galaxy S4, there weren’t many folks that were happy about it. In fact, there’s still quite a discussion going on via the social channels. The issue is so timely, that Samsung recently spoke up on the matter:“For the Galaxy S4 16 GB model, approximately 6.85 GB occupies the system part of internal memory, which is 1 GB bigger than that of the Galaxy S3, in order to provide a high resolution display and more powerful features to our consumers. To offer the ultimate mobile experience to our users, Samsung provides a microSD slot on Galaxy S4 for extension of memory.”In a roundabo

Samsung Galaxy S4 to Come with PHOLED Display and Touchless Gestures

Monday 11th of March 2013 / android.gs
There are only three days until the Samsung Galaxy S4 release date and the rumor mill is not taking a brake, which is not a reason to be surprised considering that the next-gen flagship is one of the most anticipated smartphones of 2013. According to anonymous sources quoted by the folks at SamMobile, the Samsung Galaxy S4 will come with floating touch and it will use a new type of panel for the display. The touchless gestures for the display is not a premier in the smartphone business, as the Japanese at Sony have already experimented something similar on their Xperia Sola terminal. If the rumors are true, the Galaxy S4 users will be able to user their fingers in a similar way to an S Pen stylus. For example, the floating touch function will allow the user to preview video files or photos by simply hovering the finger over a certain area of the display.Another interesting report about the Samsung Galaxy S4 is claiming that the new smartphone will ditch the AMOLED technology in favor of its new relative, the PHOLED panel. Compared to the AMOLED displays that are using fluoresc

The latest intel suggests that the Sprint version of the SGS4 will actually come with an unlocked bootloader. In the mean-time we can extrapolate the following list:AT&T SGS4 = Bootloader LockedSprint SGS4 = Bootloader UNLOCKEDVerizon SGS4 = Bootloader Locked (This hasn't been confirmed but you can probably bet your farm on it being the case.)T-Mobile SGS4 = [UPDATE] Bootloader UNLOCKED (confirmed by Matt Groff - @mattlgroff on twitter)Of course, the phone will be coming to some of the other minor carriers. Wednesday 05th of June 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hello, Im a newbie to this forum but it has helped me a few times when ive done general searches. Ive registered now and I need to ask a question. My S4 charges normally with its own charger and USB, it charges from my old HTC charger, no problems. Now I've used my old in car charger (used for the HTC) to charge it fine, I brought a solar panel charger for when im fishing over a weekend and the first time the internal battery had been charged by the sun i plugged it into my S4 and it charged it to 100% in about 2 and a half hours. Ive tried to do it again and nothing?? so i thought that the solar battery might npot be charged so in order to test it I plugged my wifes S3 in and bingo it started charging. Ive brought a new in car cradle kit that comes with a small cigarette lighter plug with a USB socket to attach the kits USB cable into. Again it worked one but since hasnt yet does work on my wifes S3?????? because of this I tried my old HTC one in the car which is the old style giant plug in cigarette charger and bingo it charged my phone????. The Samsung Galaxy S4 wireless charging kit is now available directly through Samsung’s accessory store. Should you choose to make charging on your GS4 “hassle free,” be prepared to shell out $90. Video: Quick Look at the Samsung Galaxy S4 Wireless Charging Kit – Droid Life

Thursday 27th of June 2013 / feedproxy.google.com
The Samsung Galaxy S4 wireless charging kit finally went on sale at the beginning of June for a not-so-cheaply-set price of $90. We got a hold of one today to show off in case any of you had plans on picking one up, but were waiting to hear more details. So, here is a quick look at both the charging cover ($40) and the charging pad ($50). The first thing you notice after unwrapping the charging cover is that it’s not as thin as the standard back. That’s not surprising, since it likely houses a charging coil that when touched to the charging pad, charges your phone. So if you were hoping to swap out the standard back for this charging cover and not add any thickness, that’s just not going to happen. This will also mess with the fit in your case should you use one. In fact, I tried to slap the phone into a Ringke Slim and realized immediately that it wasn’t going to fit. So if you upgrade to the charging back, wave goodbye to a case.I noticed initially that the new back cover feels a bit stickier than the original back for my GS4, but that could also be because
