Galaxy S3 moving Apps to external SD card Issue.....

Monday 02nd of July 2012 / droidforums.net
Does everyone know that you can NOT move your downloaded Apps from the Google Play store to your external SD card on the SG3, the only thing that can go on your external SD Card is files you download from any source "but the Google Play store", so for those that like to download lots of games and need more that 11 Gigs of space that will be available on the 16 gig SG3 model "the OS and some of the preloaded files take about 5 gigs" you have no option of moving them to the external SD card. For me on the 16GB version of the SG3 there will be 11 Gigs left for Apps and anything else, that is more than enough "for me", as I see that has caused a big uproar all over the web in regards to this issue, I say keep the Apps that you use MOST in your MY Apps Installed folder in the Google Play market, and the ones you hardly use in your ALL folder in the App market. That would be the only solution I would have for this issue till Samsung resolves this problem.

It is good to hear that there should be plenty of room on the S3 for lots of apps. I was really starting to question my decision. Now another question. What do you do with a 64G card if you cant store apps on it. Is the external SD card only for music and pictures? What else can you do with it(outside from ROMing)?

She either knew and didn't say, or didn't know about this. I'm really not sure which is worse. Had i known, i would have spent the extra for the 32 GB version. That might be my reason to root and flash CM10 (they fixed this). On finding this lack of functionality to be able to move apps to the user mounted micro-SD card, I returned mine to the supplier under the legal UK term "not fit for purpose". I too would need the 32Gb version (probabily leaving ~27Gb after the operating system, based on 11Gb being left available on the 16Gb version).

So, I've JUST backed up my Color Notes on my Droid X SD card, and moved it to the SGS3. NOW what? Are you saying that I have lost all my notes? Is there a way to move the data FROM the SD card into the app? I LOVE my Color notes app. Thanks!

galaxy external sd card problem

Friday 24th of January 2014 / androidforums.com
Hi,Twice I have experienced problems with my external SD card in my Samsung Galaxy S3 and both times they occurred about the time my Galaxy started asking me whether to install a system update. Coincidence, yes? Sure, except the same happened to me wife at nearly the same time (same week in both instances). The first time the card couldn't be read at all by any of our computers. This most recent time the card could be read by my computer and then when after finding the data still on it, I put it back in my phone, it is working again.Anyone else hear of someone experiencing an issue like this and what might be causing it? Thanks,

An SD Card Issue

Wednesday 26th of February 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
Okay so let me first start off by saying I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini GT-I8190N running Android 4.1.2. Just clearing that off. Okay so not too long ago I bought a 16GB SanDisk MicroSDHC card for my phone because I was running out of space on my phone's internal storage and this icon showed up constantly in my status bar and next to it it said "Storage space running out" and below that "Some system functions may not work". Tapping on it just led me to the storage menu in settings. I was getting sick of it so I bought the memory card. I figured 16GB was way more than enough. So I went home, inserted the SD card into the slot, and switched on my phone to see if it had worked. Now, the icon still showed up but under the storage menu, underneath the Internal Storage section there was an SD card section. One segment showed the Total Space of the SD card (14.83GB), another showing the Available Space (14.83GB). Then there was another segment to unmount the SD card and another to format it. After some research, I figured I needed to format the SD card. So I tapp

Samsung Galaxy S3 SD card continually shutting down and re-installing

Tuesday 22nd of July 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
Ever since the lasted software upgrade that was forced on me I constantly get a message regarding an unexpected removal of my SD card. If you wait awhile the SD card is recognized again. this happens constantly. I talked to AT&T and they told me it is a known issue with the S4's and told me a new sim card might help. Well it did for several weeks. Suddenly I noticed again over the weekend it is happening again. Samsung is no help. Any one have any clue about this? I have removed my SD card and tried it in other devices and it works fine so it is definitely the software on the phone.

Samsung Galaxy s3 EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING ISSUE!!!!!!!

Wednesday 13th of August 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
So here's my issue and ANY help would be appreciated!!!! I am using a Samsung galaxy s3 that I unlocked from at&t on the T mobile network. I have not had any issues with the phone except the occasional re insert sim card message, which after reinserting said card, is promptly connected to the network. Recently my power button was stuck so I took the back apart, including the screws to gently dig it out. When I did that the sim card holder and sd card holder fell out. After attempting to put it back on my phone it would show all the bars but with a message that said "insert sim card". Neither my sim card or sd card were being read. After researching online I discovered (surpise!) I actually had to plug in the flex cord to the motherboard. Amazingly, now, my phone still does not read the sd card, but will acknowledge it being inserted and ejected and also won't read the sim card for access to my network! I get the circle with a line across it where as BEFORE when the FLEX CORD wasn't plugged in it showed ALL THE BARS and the error sim card message !!!!! I can't figure thi
