Chinese WM8650 9.7" help!

Sunday 28th of August 2011 / androidtablets.net
I bought a Ipad 2 imitation tablet in Beijing this past May and read everything I could find about rooting it and flashing with a new ROM to install Android market and other apps, but ended up Bricking the first tablet, even after trying every ROM I could find. I'm hoping since then other people have had some success and can help me. I fought with the dealer at Silk Street in Beijing where I bought it and they finally gave me a replacement. I've been afraid to try anything since. It is a 9.7" tabl;et that looks just like the Ipad 2. It even says Ipad 2 on the back with 128 Gig of memory and the apple logo.It has a blue light on the back button upon start up. The about device screen says:Model # Wondermedia WM8650Android Version 2.2Kernal Version 2.6.32.9-defaultBuild Numbe: Generic-eng 2.2 Froyo V1.2.0-20110321.152349The headphone jack on the top of the unitis just a hole along the silver frame. It does not have a black plasic ring or sleeve that I can see.Does anyone have this tablet and have you been successful in rooting, ROM flashing it and installing Androisd market? If so,

Flashing a Wondermedia WM8650 - Page 2

Hi Kalli,I've got exactly the same WM8650 tablet, except that it's the green LED version...In Holland this tablet did cost around the 99 euros last year, distributed by TomTec BeNeLux. With such a low price, you would expext crappy service, but I have been mistaken. My tablet did not play YouTube vids anymore and I couldn't download Apps, just like you. The Belgian lady suggested to get the latest ROM and send me an email with a link to a PDF and a ZIP. Here is the link to their web site: https://helpdesk.tom-tec.eu/KB/a155/firmware-update-voor-de-tom-tec-atf3416-22-7-inch-tablet.aspxThe site is in Dutch with some English words, so maybe you can distill something useful out of it (or use Google translate). To help you I translated the key words in capitals:Klik hier om de handleiding (MANUAL) voor het installeren van de firmware te downloaden.Klik hier om de bestanden (FILES) voor het installeren van de firmware te downloaden. In the manual the screenshots are in English. In a nut shell: you have to download the ZIP, extract it to a micro-SD, put it in the tablet, turn the table on a

Complete Noob......advice needed on "flashing" uberoid

Thursday 15th of August 2013 / androidtablets.net
Please could anyone help??I have a Wondermedia WM8650 10" tablet, i believe thats what it is. Based on searching google images and finding one that looks exactly like mine.It is quite simply a terribly slow and unpredictable tablet, but as i only want it for reading and the odd game, i would like to sort it out. Many people have told me to "flash" my tablet "ROM" with uberoid.....im sure people reading will know what all of that means. Im not completely inept in computers and whatnot, having been a Ubuntu user for several years, i thought maybe i could get round this easily. but its a whole different ball game. My tablet has a TF slot and a USB slot, the only sd card i have is a standard sd card. I have used this for everything to do with installing things, etc on my tablet, using a usb card reader plugged into my tablet. I have ran the Uberoid changer programme on my laptop and selected the correct setup, etc then saved it to the SD. But when i plug it into the tablet and switch it on, it just boots up normally. No Uberoid install??? Is it not possible to &quo
