Verizon Offering DROID 2 and Incredible as Warranty Replacements? – Droid Life

Thursday 19th of August 2010 / droid-life.com
We had heard directly from Asurion a few weeks back that they would be offering up Droid X and Incredible devices some time this summer to those making a claim on the original Droid, but today we have even better news.  We’ve heard from 2 readers, one who had the option to replace their 3rd refurbished Droid Eris with either a Droid 2 or an Incredible and another who was able to swap out a 4th refurb’d Droid 1 for a D2.  And we’re not talking insurance claims here, this is straight up warranty swapping.Update:  I should point out that dropping your phone in a toilet will not get you a replacement.  That would be an insurance claim.  Warranty swaps are for phones that simply do not function properly even though you have done nothing to it.Apparently the Verizon rep they both spoke with was as speechless as we all are at this point. If anyone else is able to essentially upgrade to a newer device, let us know!Cheers Phil and Tyler!

Download: DROID X Live Wallpaper – Droid Life

Saturday 26th of June 2010 / droid-life.com
We knew it was only a matter of days before the Droid X Eye live wallpaper was ported to the rest of the big dog Android devices.  This is the live wallpaper with the scary Droid eye that follows you as you swipe between screens.  It’s pretty much the most fantastic live wallpaper available.  And as you can see from the screenshots above, there are a variety of colors to choose from instead of just the standard red.*For all users.  Both rooted and non-rooted.*Worked on my stock Incredible and Froyo Droid 1.Download: GREEN | RED | GOLD | CYAN | BLUEInstructions…1.  Download your color of choice.2.  You may need to download via PC and transfer over through USB.3.  Open Astro File Manager and find the file you downloaded.4.  Tap on it, select “Open App Manager.”5.  Select “Install.”6.  Once it finishes, back out to your home screen.7.  Select Menu>Wallpapers>Live Wallpapers>DROID X8.  Done!Source: XDA ForumsCheers James!_______________________________________________More Droid X Goodies: Multi-touch Keyboard | Boot Animation

Exclusive: New Droid 2 and Droid X Live Wallpaper – Droid Life

Tuesday 22nd of June 2010 / droid-life.com
Check out another exclusive we just received of the Motorola Droid 2 and its new live wallpaper. I have to admit that part of me is leaning toward this actually being the live wallpaper you’ll see with the Droid X as this is the same Droid 2 which we got the boot animation and first shots of.  If you followed our Droid red eye spiel, then you’ll know that boot animation is the one you’ll see with the Droid X next month. And back to the live paper!  Apologies up front for the quality, but you can clearly see the eye rotating with some sort of cloud surrounding it.  Lovin’ it…Who can’t wait for Wednesday when this all becomes official?

DROID 2 and Incredible FREE through Sears – Droid Life

Tuesday 09th of November 2010 / droid-life.com
Looking to pick up an original Droid 2 or Incredible before they become extinct in the next month?  You may want to head over to Sears and grab one of each for free then before the end of Wednesday.  The D2 has already been discontinued at Best Buy, had its price dropped with Verizon plus saw a sneaky introduction of a global version which can only mean the end is near.  The Incredible on the other hand has seen a bunch of pricing adjustments, but the bigger news is the rumor a possible HD LTE replacement on the horizon.   Any last takers?Buy Droid 2 | Buy Droid IncredibleCheers Kris!

Motorola Droid 2 and Shadow Model Numbers Spotted – Droid Life

Wednesday 12th of May 2010 / droid-life.com
Back in April we hinted at 2 mysterious Motorola devices that were set to launch this summer with one being the Motorola Shadow and the other being the newest version of the Motorola Droid aka the Droid 2.  While we were pretty adamant that these were in fact 2 different devices, the rest of the world seemed poised to group them in together as one.To help disprove that thought, here are 2 tweets from @Androidevicespy who seems to have captured both the Shadow and Droid 2.  Both CDMA and both headed to Verizon.Motorola Droid 2 (A955)Motorola Shadow (MB810)Steps closer to the next Droid family member!Update: It looks like the Droid 2 passed its wifi certification…
