Verizon Wireless Officially Announces the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX; Alleges 21 Hours of Straight Talk Time.

Monday 09th of January 2012 / phandroid.com
The folks at Verizon have just officially unveiled the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX, an Android 2.3 smartphone that is pretty much a slightly thicker follow-up to the original Motorola DROID RAZR. Verizon and Motorola are touting its ability to allow users to talk on the phone for more than 21 hours straight. Yes – 21 hours of talk time. We’re not exactly sure how they supposedly pulled this feat off but we’ll certainly be eager to learn. They also mentioned it’ll come with a significant amount more memory than the original with 32GB on-board. It’ll be available for $300 on a new two-year agreement and will be ready for your battery-draining fingers.Verizon didn’t give details on a release window but we’re sure those of you who are looking for a phone with superior battery will be waiting long and hard for it whenever it may launch. You can expect the device to be compatible with the usual suspects of accessories (lapdocks, HD docks and more) and you can expect it to be upgraded to Android 4.0 sometime down the line. Read on for full press details.

[Updated: Live Now At VZW] Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX Release Date Officially Confirmed For January 26th For $299.99 With New Two-Year Agreement

Friday 25th of January 2013 / androidpolice.com
Update 1/26/12: The MAXX is now live on VZW (thanks, Vinoth):If you were following along with us and the action of CES, then you undoubtedly caught the announcement of the Droid RAZR MAXX, an 8.99 mm thin beast packing a 3,300 mAh battery that will likely outlast you in terms of needing to recharge. While it is nearly 2 mm thicker than the original Droid RAZR, it is still incredibly thin for how long the battery lasts. It can supposedly blast through 21 hours of straight talk time, and considering the fact that any sane person doesn't talk on the phone for 21 hours straight, the battery will definitely keep you up and running during a day of heavy use.Around the time of the announcement, we also caught wind of a supposed 1/26 release date, and Verizon confirmed that today. The phone will indeed be available in stores and online on January 26th, and will cost $299.99 with a new two-year agreement.Check the official press release below:The DROID RAZR™ MAXX™ by Motorola will be available on Jan. 26 in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online at www.verizonwireless.

Droid Razr Maxx HD on Straight Talk(ATT)?

Wednesday 04th of September 2013 / androidforums.com
So the Droid Razr HD variants have the proper GSM radios to support ATT built in. I haven't tried yet but from what I hear there is a soft block on the stock software that prevents the phone from working on non Verizon US carriers.I haven't followed the scene on hacking this phone in a long time so I want to know if there is any way(rooting or flashing a new rom or anything) yet to make my Droid Razr Maxx HD work with a Straight Talk ATT sim card and service. Thanks

How do I activate a Droid Razr M?

Thursday 14th of November 2013 / androidforums.com
How can a Droid Razr M be activated on straight talk? I've been told that it is able by a rep for straight talk, but now they are saying it can't be activated. I've done my research. There's no reason it can't be.
