Does Android work slower with time?

Sunday 23rd of September 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hey. As we know, when we use Windows on our computers and install and remove programs, work on it for a year or so, it start working slower and slower, errors often pop up, etc. Does Android does the same? I mean let's say I install 20 different apps and then I remove it..... Does it affect the system? Like in Windows we have to clean the registry manually to get it of the leftovers of removed apps, does Android do the same? I'm asking cuz I was trying with various apps and now after a while of installing and removing them my phone seems to work slower (or I'm just having such a fake feeling from Windows experience)... Do you ever do hard reset which is an equivalent to a format of PC....? Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Android Central Forums

How well does android work for audibooks?

Monday 02nd of November 2009 / androidforums.com
With the droid phone coming to Verizon i am thinking about getting rid of my iPhone 3GS. The one thing i love about the iPhone is always having my audibooks with me, and the fact that the book remembers where i left off. Does android offer any kind of audiobook support? I don't mind converting things to a needed format. And how's the music player overall? Do i need to use a library, or can i just play the files directly? I loved that capability of my rockboxed iRiver.

packet data does not work

Friday 27th of April 2012 / androidforums.com
I just bought an used Galaxy Gio phone. The problem is that packet data connection does not work.As it had Android 2.2 installed, I right away upgraded it to Android 2.3.4 via Kies. I did not try using internet via packet data on the older Android, so I can't say whether the upgrade is to blame.Otherwise everything is just fine - I can talk over 2G and 3G, I can use wifi and surf the internet perfectly. But using internet via packet data just does not work. When an application tries connecting to internet, I see the up-arrow blinking, but down-arrow is idle (looks like only downloading has problems.. or maybe data requests are routed falsely or smth). What I've tried so far:tried packet data over both 2G and 3Gturned on/off roaming - no effecttried another SIM-card which has packet connection working on another Android perfectlySo what do you think? What could be the problem?I guess the hardware should be fine, otherwise there would be problems with talking too, no?

B&N Isolo does not work

Sunday 27th of May 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
The demo file included with Isolo does not work either. The words that are underlined are supposed to be links that display other files, or other sections of the document. Click until you die, but nothing happens. All other apps are OK. The regular Android iSolo has issues with Nooks, I understand, but this is the Barnes & Noble version of iSolo. Also, the iSolo menu (at top and bottom of screen) does not work. Could not get into the iSolo forum- they have a stupid part of the registration process that makes no sense to me at all, so I cannot proceed. They do not answer my email question, either. Is there some way to uninstall and reinstall it again? Anyone else ever see this problem? 8 GB Nook Tablet. I am not even going to try B&N support- the on line support is totally worthless in my experience. The local store is better, and they mean well, but they are not up to speed on technical issues. Thanks!!!!

Android Forums - View Single Post - Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync Does Not Work 100%

Tuesday 29th of December 2009 / androidforums.com
I have been using my Eris now for about a month and love it. One thing I have found that I do not like about it is the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync program that is pre-loaded on the phone. I loved it at first until I tried to respond to an email and compose an email. It does not work 100% !!! I can receive emails, calender events, and calender alerts but can not send or respond to emails. I called Verizon and HTC tech support and they both determined it was not the device so it had to be my Exchange serve at work. I told them that I work in the IT department where I work and it could not be settings on the server. I checked this out before calling them. I see some people have this same problem and some do not. I ended up trying "free" for 14 days an app called RoadSync Mail/Calender. It sends and responds to emails now problem. The only problem I have with this app is that it cost $ after 14 days and it does not push me email 100% of the time. More like 97%. One of the main reasons I got this phone was the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync feature. And because I love Google pr

assistive light widget does not work

Wednesday 13th of November 2013 / androidforums.com
Assistive light widget works sporadically. When it does not work, the camera flash does not work either. It starts to work after I turn off and turn the Note 3 back on and after a while it stops working again. My original Note 3 was replaced. The same behavior is on the replaced Note 3. Bothe Note 3 phones hade Android 4.3. Does any one experience the same problem?
