Does android voice command work?

Tuesday 14th of June 2011 / talkandroid.com
I have been trying to figure out how to use this voice command by google. No matter what I try to do, the ONLY command that works correctly is when I tell it to call a certain number. If I say "call bob smith" it does not understand and goes to a web search mode. I think this is a waste of time if it does not do as advertised. I can't use the TEXT mode, the EMAIL mode, or any other mode. All of my phone contacts have the little google symbol next to them. I'm thinking that it means that they are synced with my google account, but when I go to it, they are not there. Do my contacts have to be in my gmail account before this can work? Has ANYONE ever gotten this app to work, and if so, HOW?

Does Android work slower with time?

Sunday 23rd of September 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hey. As we know, when we use Windows on our computers and install and remove programs, work on it for a year or so, it start working slower and slower, errors often pop up, etc. Does Android does the same? I mean let's say I install 20 different apps and then I remove it..... Does it affect the system? Like in Windows we have to clean the registry manually to get it of the leftovers of removed apps, does Android do the same? I'm asking cuz I was trying with various apps and now after a while of installing and removing them my phone seems to work slower (or I'm just having such a fake feeling from Windows experience)... Do you ever do hard reset which is an equivalent to a format of PC....? Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Android Central Forums

google play store - How does Android handle tablet specific apps and how do you distinguish these apps?

Thursday 03rd of March 2011 / android.stackexchange.com
How does Android handle tablet specific apps and how do you distinguish these apps? I know there are Android apps that only work on Tablet devices (they say there are currently 16) and wont work on phones. There is a similar relationship between the iPad and iPhone but in the iTunes app store there are distinct iPad and iPhone tabs. There doesn't appear to be the same type of distinction in the Android Market that will allow me to browse Tablet specific apps.

How well does android work for audibooks?

Monday 02nd of November 2009 / androidforums.com
With the droid phone coming to Verizon i am thinking about getting rid of my iPhone 3GS. The one thing i love about the iPhone is always having my audibooks with me, and the fact that the book remembers where i left off. Does android offer any kind of audiobook support? I don't mind converting things to a needed format. And how's the music player overall? Do i need to use a library, or can i just play the files directly? I loved that capability of my rockboxed iRiver.

This program does it by removing the batterystats.bin system file. The OS generates a new clean batterystats file soon, thus any fake information from the previous ROM is removed. It's suggested, but not necessary, to let the phone fully discharge after calibration, then charged to 100% without break. The app shows your actual battery status, and only allows you to start the calibration (i.e. removes the file) when it's fully charged, unless you force earlier calibration. The voltage meter can be useful too. Does Android/Google play work well in Europe?

Sunday 21st of July 2013 / androidforums.com
My wife and I are Americans living in Europe. We are in the states right now and we are looking at getting a TF300 tablet. We are thinking that it would be really helpful for ebooks, magazine subscription, etc., and would help us to not have to lug books across the ocean in our luggage. I am not really keen on the Kindle due to it being locked down Android. Would a TF300 work ok in Europe? Could I use Google play? Or at least download ebooks, etc.? If anyone has any experience/insight in this area I would be thankful for any input.Thanks.
