Where does Android store the "default application for file type (open with)" settings?

Thursday 06th of December 2012 / android.stackexchange.com
Where does Android store the default application settings that connects each type of content with a designated application?I mean which application open each kind of file or content type so if I got two PDF readers and I downloaded a PDF file android will use one of them without letting the user an option to choose.I know I can clear the default settings of an application but it's not what I'm looking for.I want to find the table/database/file that android uses for this.Is it in a sqlite database file? Where is it stored ?

Bug in iOS Fails to Recognize Daylight Savings in Europe, Android Users Chuckle – Droid Life

Monday 01st of November 2010 / droid-life.com
We couldn’t help but mention this story.  According to THOUSANDS of reports across Europe today, there appears to be a major bug in iOS that can’t understand Daylight Savings time and left thousands of i*hone owners an hour late to work today if they were using the stock alarm app.  And to make matters worse, U.S. owners are reporting that their phones were waking them up an hour earlier than normal when we all know that our day doesn’t come until the 7th.Of course, no Android related alarm clock delays have been announced.Oh and this tweet in preparation for Steve J*bs’ response is perfect…@diveintomark: THE IPHONE ALARM CLOCK IS FINE. YOU’RE JUST SLEEPING WRONG.And back to your regularly scheduled programming.Via:  CNNCheers Mathees!

Does android allow purchase of an app once per family, like iPhone?

Monday 04th of October 2010 / androidforums.com
With an iPhone, if your family shares the same computer/itunes account, you share access to all of the same mp3's, videos, and apps you've bought from itunes. Obviously I could put the same mp3's on my phone and my wife's manually, but what about apps? Is it possible to buy the app once for a family, or does android require paying for each person seperately?

networking - Does Android have support for IPv6?

Thursday 16th of December 2010 / android.stackexchange.com
I wonder if Android has support for IPv6? I have heard that the phone company I use has support for IPv6 and I have a IPv6 address if I visit http://ipv6.whatismyipv6.net.ipv4.sixxs.org/.But I can not visit IPv6-only sites like http://ipv6.google.com, why is that? Does Android have support for IPv6?

Problems with Daylight Savings Time

Sunday 07th of November 2010 / androidforums.com
I live in the central time zone. This morning I woke up and my phone decided to adjust for daylight savings time by 2 hours instead of 1. I checked the time and date settings to find that the date settings were checked to "automatic". Somehow the phone decided I was in the Mountain time zone instead of central. Any idea why/how that would happen? If I uncheck the automatic, and manually change my time zone it works fine.
