Launch custom app when connecting to car dock?

Wednesday 16th of December 2009 / droidforums.net
I have rooted and nandroid imaged my Droid and want to get my hands a little dirty hacking to suit my needs. I personally have found that I don't use the CarDock app much when in the car. I would much rather have slacker radio launch when connecting to the dock. Does anyone know what is being called when the dorid senses the magnet for the car dock?

Upgraded to 2.1, now no "USB Drive or Charge Only" message when connecting to PC

Thursday 26th of May 2011 / android.net
MB300 Backflip w/firmware 2.1 SD Card worked fine with Media Link and the prompt for USB Drive or Charge Only always appeared on the phone when connecting to WinXP PC while on 1.6. Tonight I upgraded to firmware 2.1 without incident but now I don't get the prompt for using as a USB drive when attaching to the same PC and while Drive E: shows as Removable Disk in My Computer like it did previously, I can't explore same. ("Please insert a disk in Drive E:") I've unmounted the drive via phone Settings, removed and reseated, power cycled both the PC and phone to no avail. If anyone has any other ideas, I'm up for them at this point. Additional info: Since original post, I've researched somewhat similar occurrences and responses, some of which indicated that an SD card format might be in order. Did that. No change. Tried a factory reset. No change. The phone knows it's connected to the PC via USB, the card is identified with space information available in Settings and the PC recognizes the connection, I'm just not getting the "Charge only" or "USB drive" opti

Phone interrupts internet connection when connecting to wireless

Monday 01st of February 2010 / droidforums.net
I've had the Motorola Droid for a few months and love it. But I have this weird problem when sometimes it will momentarily knock out the internet connection on my entire home network when connecting to the wireless. It happens sporadically, so it's not easily repeatable, but when it does happen, it's instant. So I'll wake up my phone and attempt to do anything requiring an internet connection, phone detects my wireless network and tries to connect, and instantly all the applications running on my desktop pc (which is wired to the router) will report that my connection to the internet has been lost. After about 5 seconds, the connection comes back and everything restores itself. So it may not seem like too bad of a problem, except if I happen to be playing a game online, I'll get dropped. I have a pretty typical setup in my house, no other wireless devices have caused this kind of interruption before. I'm actually on my second Droid (bad headphone jack) and both phones have had this issue. Anyone else experience something similar? or have any suggestions? I've searched around and coul

Disable auto S voice activation when connecting to bluetooth?

Wednesday 15th of January 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
Since the last upgrade, my S4 now automatically brings up S voice whenever it connects to bluetooth. I don't suppose that would be so bad, except for it almost always has some phrase that it says to me. The most recent was, "Hi. I hope you are able to make the most of your time while the night is still young" (or something like that). It's especially creepy because it sounds just like GladOS from Portal. I've been trying to figure out how to disable this, but can't find any setting for it. Is it possible to disable this?

When connecting to a wifi that requires sign in

Friday 02nd of May 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
When connecting to a wifi that requires sign in, I am able to "connect" to the wifi but the page is blank when I am directed to the "sign in" page. I have had no trouble with this in the past but the last couple days I can not sign in. It is at my job and everyone else is am to sign in. Wifi is working fine at my home. Again, it states I am connected but I receive a blank page with directed to sign in. I've already attempted a factory re-set. THANKS!
