yes read other posts-How to install apk on Sony Tablet S without internet connection?

Sunday 24th of June 2012 / androidtablets.net
Ok, so i got the Sony Tablet S, i read the instructions on other forum posts for this problem. Heres the problem:Ive got no internet connection, so i loaded the Astro File Manage APK on my SD card, and used the file transfer app that came pre-installed.I went into settings and switched on 'allow installation of non-market sources'. Then went and found the file through file transfer again, clickedon it, and 3 options come up: 'delete', 'close', and the last one is grayed out 'open file' (cant select this). So.... anyone know how i can possibly install apps without an internet connection and the actual tablet not allowing me access to apk files?..... Am i transferring these apk files over intothe wrong directory or something? - i just made a new folder called transfer/programs/ and put it in there...Anyone else come across this issue? Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers

Milestone - Installing Apps (apk) problem

Thursday 29th of July 2010 / android.net
My cousin recently got the Motorola Milestone, and since then i've tried everything to install apps, but couldnt. The problem is that the phone came without a "Market", since there is no market i cant download and install "Astro" or any other file managing app. And without Astro, i cant run or install *.apk files. So, is there a solution?! I would really like to stay on my official OS, i dont want to install any MODs.P.S. Milestone runs on Android 2.1, that still doesnt support running apps from SD card.

Help editing .apk files?

Thursday 29th of April 2010 / droidforums.net
Is there a proper way to edit apk files in general? I pulled the framework-res.apk from my phone the other night to change the sliders on my lockscreen. I used winrar to zip the framework apk and then went in replaced some images, none of them where .9 images. After I swapped images, I pushed the framework back using ADB and my phone instantly reboots every time. When my droid comes back online, the images changed so i figured it worked. But now I'm experiencing some problems, such as, I cant install anything from the Market and, my installed applications have seem to reset to their default settings and I get random FCs. That's why I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong or if there is any easier, correct way to edit APK's? Could it be that I'm on a CM rom and that's giving me problems? I don't know. Also, I belive if you edit third party apps like Tweetcaster, Rom Manager, etc. you have to auto-sign them, correct? But stock apps you dont? Thanks,Bud

can't run apps installed from apk files (cyanogenmod 10.1.3)

Thursday 17th of October 2013 / androidforums.com
Hi guys, i bought a galaxy tab 2 7" (p3110) and i had it running the stock fw. Everything was fine and i decided to flash it with clockwork mod and cm 10.1.3 (meaning i have 4.2.2 android version). Everything seems to work fine but the weird thing is that i cant run anymore applications which i install from apk files. I tried with so many games that i had installed and were working fine at stock fw. Does anyone of you know why they not running anymore? Is it the version of the android, something with google's license maybe? (when i install apk files there is a message which informs me if i want google to check apps that i install outside of play)
