waking the screen without disconnecting your call

Sunday 12th of August 2012 / droidforums.net
When on a call holding the phone in my hand, the screen blacks out, as it's supposed to when next to my face, to prevent accidental "button pushing." When I move the phone away, the screen comes back on. However, if I am using the internal speaker or a bluetooth connected speaker, the screen "times out" according to the timing set in the system display settings. (I have mine set to one minute.) But as far as I can tell, the ONLY way to get the screen to turn back on is to press the power button -- and that DISCONNECTS the call! Which means there is no way to look at my calendar or the web or any other app while on a speaker call (after the screen has timed out).Is there any other way to turn the screen back on without disconnecting the call? Or, Is there a setting somewhere that prevents the screen from timing out while on speaker or bluetooth?

my phone keeps disconnecting me from calls

Tuesday 29th of May 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
MI have had my phone over a year now and I have had no issues then last week my phone started disconnecting me from calls. Some times it does not happen at all, other times I can talk for a while then it does it, and other times when I place a call and the other person answers or if I answer a call it will disconnect me a soon I hit the button to answer or hear the other person say hello. This is really getting on my nerves.

Disabling / Removing Post Call Summary Screen

Tuesday 18th of January 2011 / forums.androidcentral.com
How the heck do I disable the call summary screen that appears after disconnecting a call? It is eternally annoying for many reasons. Reason the first, it is a HUGE delay before I can make my next call (like if the last caller gave me a number and I'm trying to get to a dial screen before I forget it). Reason the second, if I press the right side sleep button while that screen is displayed, it wakes right back up in a couple seconds (presumably when the screen goes away), forcing me to push it a second time. Reason the third, it serves NO purpose. It shows me who I just talked to. Wow. I'm pretty sure I know who I was just talking to. Don't tell me to root the phone. I've tried, twice. Failed, twice. Both times I got the "Galaxy S of death boot lock-up". I managed to install a basic recovery Linux console and set the phone back to default, thereby losing all my applications, settings, call history, etc.

Turning off display disconnects call?

Thursday 02nd of May 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I'm coming off of a two year old Samsung Infuse. With my old phone I would make a phone call for use with my bluetooth headset then turn off the display for the duration of the call. If I try this with my HTC One, the call is ended immediately after pressing the button in the top, left-hand corner to turn off the display. Am I doing this wrong or is there a way to disable this function? The reverse is true also so if I'm in the middle of a call and my screen turns off, I'm unable to turn it back on without disconnecting the call. Any advice?

Call Waiting Disconnecting Current Call

Wednesday 28th of December 2011 / droidforums.net
All of a sudden, if I am on a call and another call comes in, my current call gets instantly disconnected, as well as the incoming call. I have never had this issue ever before. Is this a Verizon issue or a GNex issue? Any ideas?Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using DroidForums

Bluetooth Not Disconnecting Thus Causing Huge Battery Drain

Wednesday 20th of March 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
For some reason, my phone isn't disconnecting from my car's Sync system when exiting. I usually discover it when checking GSam and seeing Bluetooth Share as a top power drainer. Then I'll notice the BT icon is blue, forcing me to toggle BT off and on to break the connection. This started about a month ago and I can't think of anything that's changed to cause it. It connects without a hitch nearly every time (have had maybe one or two isolated instances of it not automatically connecting) and audio app and call quality is fine. I'm running rooted stock ROM with Faux123's 011m kernel, but this has been happening since 006 or so. I haven't seen anyone else complaining on the XDA thread with similar issues.

Well after almost one month of frustration with this phone disconnecting my call while talking.because of the screen touching my face. I finally have a solution Hurray... simple when call arrives hit the power button Once.. the screen will go black and lock.. and you can move all over the screen with touching etc and the call continues .When you are ending the call just hit the power button again and everything goes live again on the screen to conclude the call.. I was to almost ready to go back to my old phone just to be able to talk on the PHONE... HURRAY

Can't turn screen on during call on speakerphone

Saturday 14th of December 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hi everyone, I've discovered that once my screen times out while I'm on a call via the speakerphone, there is no way to turn the screen back on. Pressing the power button on the top will end the call I'm on. Is there any way to turn the screen on during a speakerphone call without disconnecting the call? Thanks!
