"SD Card blank or has unsupported file system"

Wednesday 29th of December 2010 / androidforums.com
So I downloaded the latest OTA update last night, and it installed just fine (phone worked fine, etc). I went to bed later last night, then when I woke up this morning, I got a "SD Card blank or has unsupported file system" message! The first message I got was actually something a bit different. Unfortunately, I can't remember exactly what it was, but I clicked on the notification and it tried to do something with the SD Card (probably remount it or something), and ever since I've been getting the "SD Card blank or has unsupported file system" thing. Now my only option given when I click on this notification is to format the SD Card. This is really annoying; I don't want to format my card and lose all the data! Are there any 'fixes' for this? I noticed a lot of people had this problem with the original HTC Desire.P.S. I haven't rooted my phone or anything like that, so that wouldn't be an issue.Edit: I tried all the usual stuff such as rebooting, taking the battery out, reseating the mem card, etc, numerous times to no avail. I got so tired of it that I just tried t

Samsung galaxy tab 2 wiped memory card?

Monday 08th of April 2013 / androidforums.com
Have had this tablet 6 months. Installed a 32g card in it last year. Today, Facebook was running slow, decided to restart to see if it would help. After a normal restart, it now says "blank sd card or unsupported file system" and all my music, pics etc seem to be gone. Have turned it off, removed & replaced the card, tried to remount the card, but still says empty card. Any ideas?

Blank sd card or unsupported file system

Saturday 12th of June 2010 / androidforums.com
Hi everyone,My brother just bought a Milestone and he's having problems with the SD card (8gb). What happens is that he put some music on his phone, and with the program Ringdroid, began to cut some songs. Then, the phone began to crash, he restarted it. After restarting, the device didn't recognize the memory, saying "Blank sd card or unsupported system", occasionally rebooting, indicates that it was removed.I have looked in other threads and google it, but found nothing useful. I can't unmount or format it from the phone. And as I have the G1, I put my card (that works) on Milestone and got the same problem, so I think it's not the SD.*Ahh, and i've already formatted it, nothing...Any ideas?

xperia play sd card problems

Tuesday 04th of June 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
hi there fellow android lovers ive been having some problems with my xperia play and the sd card. so i bought my xperia play used on ebay from a trusted reseller. (it was pre rooted )it worked fine for the first few days and i was able to load all the games and apps i wanted and put them on the sd card. the sd card is a class 10 pny 32gb micro. but a few days latter at a meeting at church my phone stopped working with the apps that where on the sd card. it then showed a message in my notifications that i had a blank sd card or unsupported file system. i took it home and plugged the sd card into my windows xp computer and formatted it. it then seemed to work fine. then about 3 hours later it wouldnt recognise any apps or games on it. so i plugged it into my cousins windows 8 laptop and formatted it and also auto fixed the issues. then reset my phone (still was rooted) and loaded it up again. it did the same things so i decided to plug it back into my windows xp computer and run chkdsk in cmd and it came back with no issues. and it still wouldnt recognise any apps. so i downloaded a in

Note 3 SD card problems

Wednesday 12th of March 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hey everybody,I'm having an sd card issue with my Telus Note 3. My external 32gb card was working flawlessly until about a week ago when I got a notification that said, "Blank SD card or unsupported file system". When I clicked on it, it wanted me to format my card. Not wanting to lose everything, I took it out and plugged it in in my iMac and was able to back up all my pics/music ect. So it seems like there was no issue with my card as I put it in my wifes S3 and it works fine in there. Before I put that card in my wifes phone, I put it back in my Note 3 and it gave me the same message. I clicked format and it ended up giving me the same message. I bought a new card, tried it and same thing. Anybody got any ideas what is going on? I've had my phone for 32 days now so they want me to send it in to be fixed . Anybody know if this is a software issue or is it the phone and if there is any fix for it. Thanks!!

Regarding S3 Micro SD card malfuntions- descriptions of a slow death

Thursday 10th of April 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
I have seen this before, plenty of notes on here about SD failures. In this case I am talking about a SanDisk 32G microSD. My card started unmounting itself today. I would get the message "sd card unmounted" and then it would go away as apparently the car re mounted. This happened throughout the day. I also noticed that the screen was slow to reactivate, and of course access to games and such was spotty. (All the apps and games stored on the SD.) I did manage to catch the sd card when it was accessible, and backed up the pictures and such. The error message eventually became "blank sd card or unsupported file system". I had already done the basics, such as take the card out, restart the phone, and then I tried reformatting the card. This only ended with the same "blank card" message. Once I was home I took the micro SD and connected it to my computer, and was surprised to find files still viewable on the SD. However, once I tried to access the card again on the computer it didn't even show up on my "Devices with Removable Storage" list. It was
