Friday 13th of April 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
Im surprised there arent many threads on this. doing a search for Antivirus app under Tablets gets 132 results not one of them looks even close. The few threads Ive found, mostly on AVG, have very little feedback/posts So... I see tons of options in the Play Store, The most reputable appear to be AVP by AVG in its many forms, Dr. Web with several different releases/levels, Norton and then Lookout security, anyone have any input on any of these? Best Parental controls for tablets

Wednesday 07th of August 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
We are trying to set up ten Asus Memo Pads that we are donating to a local teen center. The tablets are running 4.1 and we have set up the app locks to control that but we would like a suggestion for parental controls for chrome. These tables will be used only in house and will not purposely leave the building but we will be installing an AV with location services none the less. They will be checking out the tablets with their student id's and each tablet will be numbered with a unique ID. What do you recommend for a parental app?

Google developing parental controls for Chrome

Tuesday 20th of August 2013 / androidauthority.com
It looks like Google is planning to introduce “supervised accounts”, aka parental controls, to Chrome, as several new features have popped up in the latest development build of its popular web browser. So far, it looks like the feature will be built as an extension to Chrome’s existing user accounts system, whereby regular users can create new accounts with certain restrictions and limited privileges. Once a supervised account is set up, the various limitations can be configured through a dedicated webpage, which certainly seems easier than having to scroll through numerous settings menus. If you’d like to take a look at some of the account options, Browser Fame has managed to capture a few screenshots of the features implemented so far. These supervised accounts will likely also be making their way to Chromebooks in future. Also, empowering schools and teachers to more easily monitor and control their student’s web based activities directly from the browser itself would certainly help boost the Chromebook’s appeal with potential educational clients. It’s currently
