Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 now available in Canada

Friday 19th of April 2013 / androidcentral.com
Now on sale atBest Buy, Future Shop, Staples and other authorized retailers for $429Launching nearly simultaneously with the U.S., Canadians can now get their hands on a Galaxy Note 8.0 from one of several retailers. We seem to be looking at pretty much the exact same stylus-toting tablet as down in the states, with a 1280x800 8-inch display, Exynos 4412 quad-core processor, 16GB of storage, 2GB of RAM and a camera on each side. Of course on the software front we're looking at Android 4.1 with all of the extras that TouchWiz brings -- including stylus-optimized apps. The one thing that's different up in Canada is the price. While the official Samsung materials tell you to "visit your nearest retailer", we're seeing a $429 price tag for the device at both Best Buy and Future Shop. That's a $30 premium over what is generally being charged at U.S. retailers for the moment. Any Canadians out there going to pick this one up? Galaxy Note 8.0 Toolkit Now Available At XDA – Root, Recovery, Backup, And More Made Simple

Friday 26th of April 2013 / androidpolice.com
I've been using Samsung's Galaxy Note 8.0 for the past week or so, and it is hands-down one of the best tablets I've ever used. The form factor is great, and the S Pen adds some really useful functionality to this little beast. If you're looking for a new tablet in a smaller-than-ten-inches form factor, I readily recommend this one. And once you've decided to pull the trigger and buy one, you may want a quick and easy way to gain root access, flash a recovery, make a backup, and all that other fun stuff that so many Android users like to do. Good news! mskip – the developer behind a whole slew of toolkits for various devices – just released the Note 8.0 Toolkit, which allows all those actions (and more) to be performed with just a couple of keystrokes. samsung galaxy note 8.0 - Android Police - Android News, Apps, Games, Phones, Tablets

Friday 19th of April 2013 / androidpolice.com
It's a big day for our neighbors to the north! The HTC One hit store shelves this morning, which is a fairly big deal in itself. If you're not in the market for a new phone (or just aren't into the One for whatever reason), but happen to be looking for a new tablet instead, another outstanding device hit Canadian retailers today as well: the Galaxy Note 8.0. The Note 8.0 is Sammy's newest entry into the eight inch slate market, which also brings most of the best features from the Note 10.1 and Note II along for the ride. I've actually been playing with the Note 8.0 for the last day, and I can say this: it's one of the best tablets I've ever used.

Galaxy Note 8.0 temp directory (files)

Tuesday 01st of October 2013 / androidforums.com
I do my best to keep my wife's Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 clean and running well. Recently, I have seen the addition of a couple .pkg files into the storage/sdcard0/temp directory where there has always been only one of these impossible-to-identify little files (GJPP.pkg in there since 7/23, BWAD.pkg and JLAD.pkg added 09/22).About the only thing I can think of that we MIGHT have done to the tab on either of the dates mentioned MIGHT have been the removal (uninstallation) of a few unused apps...but I can't be sure of the dates. Perhaps these .pkg files might be some residue from an uninstallation???I'm sure they're doing no harm and they certainly don't take up much drive space (the largest being only 78k), but I'd like to know if it is safe to delete stuff from the "temp" directory??? To date, I've done nothing with these files in respect (fear) of the Android OS.EnzoS
