Full Memory; A little confused. I thought I had it and I dont..... - Android Phones - Android Forum - A Community For Android Users and Enthusiasts

Friday 06th of April 2012 / androidforum.com
OK, so I have a ZTE Racer, not the best I know, but it was the cheapest and I just wanted to see what the score was before I committed to something more expensive. I think this issue is applicable to any phone;I have rooted it, I have busybox, superuser, a 16gb SD card (partitioned), app2sd, and Titanium backup. I have no other apps that can go onto the SD card that arent already on it.I have removed google maps and some other junk that I wasnt going to use, but now it says that my memory is full if I try and D/L an app.I dont get it. What is filling it up? If I look at task manager it will show memory useage but it varies with which apps are running, so that is no help. App2SD says that I have 162MB total with 2615MB available. How can I free up space? I am a bit confused

Android 2.2 memory allocation

Tuesday 11th of October 2011 / androidtablets.net
Android 2.2 memory allocationWhy is it so difficult to find a 'generic' Chinese tablet with 1Gb Ram, except for the big names like Samsung, Motorola etc ?I own a rooted Viewsonic Viewpad 7, Android 2.2, 512Mb Ram, GPS, 3G. I have never past, present/futures used any other Android device. It seem like every app I install (to SD card) also takes up some of the precious RAM. I am using App2SD, AppCacheCleaner. Apps install on SD Card but it seem like every app uses up Ram (even the ones installed on SD). Getting 'not enough space/memory' messages is regular occurance. I know the difference between RAM and SD memory.Questions:1. Is the installation and running of Android (multiple, multitasking) apps limited by the amount of base RAM ? Or is this just a bug in the specific Android tablet I own ?2. How does Android 2.2 devices (like the flypad/superpad 3) handle on-board memory ? The advertised 512mb RAM and 4/8/16Gb buil-in memory ?3. Would a Android 3.1 pad with 512Mb be able to install apps to the extended memory area without the dreaded 'out of memory' or 'out of space' messages ? In

Froyo Questions-App2SD and Lockscreen

Monday 14th of February 2011 / android.net
Well, I finally got around to updating to Froyo. Mainly because my phone was constantly rebooting and a few Kernal Panics and a lot of FCs. I was using the Velocity .3 ROM which I absolutely loved. It apparently didn't like my phone though. :-) I tried re-flashing it a few times and it never would work right for more than a week. And, I'm not bashing the developers here. I think it's an excellent ROM.Anywho...took the time Saturday to use the instructions at Androidforum.com to updating to Froyo. It took me two tries to get it but the first time was my fault. Then I proceeded to root my phone using the same instructions. Worked like a charm. Finally, I installed Velocity 1.0 and was blown away. It was literally the first ROM that I could tell a drastic improvement for my phone. Again, not bashing the developers. Just an observation for my phone personally.I immediately starting re-installing my apps and I noticed a few differences between Froyo's Apps2SD and the one that was with Velocity .3 for Android 2.1. While I know it is up the app developers discretion about whether you can mo

Does App2SD work with Galaxy S?

Monday 06th of September 2010 / androidforums.com
Hi I'm trying to download App2SD on my rooted Samsung Galaxy S phone which is in the UK and Sim Free. I've tried the QR code, Android Market and also their website to email myself the link. However, I am always prompted with the Android Market Search page, which says: "There are no matches in Android Market for the search: pname:com.a0soft.gphone.app2sd Suggestions: Make sure all words are spelled correctlyTry different keywordsTry more general keywords" Any suggestions why this may be and how I can get App2SD to install? I thought perhaps the .apk file if anyone knows where this can be downloaded and also where and how I should install it (external/internal memory)? Kind regards

Windows batch tool for Huawei ideos S7

Sunday 24th of April 2011 / androidtablets.net
i wrote a little windows batch command to play with ideos s7.what this little thingy do:> install huawei USB drivershelp to install appropriate drivers for your windows os version. USB driver included in the package.> move apps to sd card it is for android 2.2.2 (froyo) ROM onlyset up app2ext or app2sd or what so ever the name using script written by ivyvisors and pvella in [PRJ] apps2sd discussion.unlike link2sd or app2sd, it moves more files to sd card (data, app, dalvik-cache), so you can install more apps to your sd card.instead of typing commands manually, i made scripted adb shell. the script has been tested on S7-103 (internal/external sd card) running new firmware S7v100R001C98B021.the script use mount point 179:2 for internal sd card partition 2.you have to manually create partitions to internal sd card before using this script.partition 1 : primary, format FAT32partition 2 : primary max size of 2GB unformatted. (will be format by the script)All credit for this goes to Ivyvisors and Pvella for developing the scriptsand thanks kevmueller for his clearly step by step tut
