Unable to download applications from Android Market (error 500)

Friday 23rd of December 2011 / androidforums.com
Hi. I just purchased an Xperia Ray, but over the past few days I'm having problems downloading/updating applications from the Android Market. When I try to download/update, I often get a prompt "Unable to download application due to an error. 500". It took me multiple tries over a few days before I could actually update my Gmail, Google maps, download Skype and so on... I've done what other threads have suggested, such as clearing of cache/data from market and the download manager, but they don't always work. Is there any way to ensure every download is a successful one? Also, I read that the battery will adjust itself? That sounds pretty cool. I never really thought that was possible. Over the past few days I've been experiencing bad battery performance. If I set applications to refresh often, (like, maybe Facebook refreshes every 30 mins) will it severely drain the battery? Thanks in advance for the help.

How to install apps android market think arte not compatible with your phone.

Monday 03rd of January 2011 / androidforums.com
First of all I have a Samsung Behold 2 running android 1.6(donut). I downloaded the shopkick app a couple of weeks ago and it worked fine. Later I downloaded another app that stopped my phone from receiving texts so I had to do a master reset. But before i did it I download astro file manager to back up all my apps. After the reset my phone re-installed all apps except shopkick. And I keep getting am error message reading "shopkick cannot not installed on this phone". When I try to go to the android market to re download it, I cant find it. But when I search for it on my wife's lg optimus t its there. I them tried using the link from the shopkick website and I get an error message which says error: page not found. So obviously the market this app won't work on my phone. But I had it before and it worked perfectly. So how can i get this app back on my phone?

Error Downloading from Android Market

Thursday 15th of December 2011 / androidforums.com
I'm getting an "<App name> could not be downloaded due to an error" when I try to install an app (any app) from the Android Market on my device and then the app gets stuck in the "Downloading..." section under "My Apps" but doesn't appear to be downloading and I can't stop it (or any of the other ones that have queued up there). However, I am able to download them from the browser based market to my device.I have tried on both the network and wifi. I have also tried clearing the cache of the Android Market app and clearing data from my Download Manager.Anyone else having this issue?

Problem with Android Market Error

Friday 02nd of December 2011 / androidtablets.net
Hi. I have a recently developed problem with the Android Market App. When I try to purchase a paid app or download a free app, I get an error message rhat says, "Purchase Cancelled...Error Processing Purchase". My tab is rooted with a "stock" 3.2 ROM installed. I have tried every possible solution that I have been able to find on the web to no avail. I even reflashd my previously backed up 3.1, and it still didnt work. If I go to the market website and purchase an app that way, then I am able to go into the market app to download and install the purchased app. It would be nice to have the convenience of the app back. Does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks.

Wi-fi issues with Android Market

Tuesday 19th of October 2010 / androidforums.com
I have searched for an answer to my problem but nobody seems to have an answer. I can connect to the web on my home wifi, I can connect to to google talk, gmail ect. I can connect and search Android Market BUT I can't download an app I just get the message "Download was Unsusccessful" It seems almost like my firewall is blocking app downloads so I searched for the Android MArket Port info and found that it uses UDP and TCP 5228, I opened these on my firewall and get the same error. After some more searching I found this solution to clear cache SETTINGS > APPLICATIONS > MANAGE APPLICATIONSOnce in manage applications, click the menu button and select filter and filter by all.Now delete the data AND cache for the following applications (if you only get the option to delete one or the other, then do what is available):Download ManagerGoogle AppsGoogle Talk ServiceGoogle Talk StorageInternetMarketTalkI have tried this and still I have the same error on an atempted download. Is there another port to open on the firewall or is there another solution please help. I must poi

android market issue

Tuesday 11th of May 2010 / forums.androidcentral.com
I think my market is messed up or just simply acting strange. Today, i realized a new google maps was released. I wanted to download it from the market app. The odd thing is that it keeps on downloading it. I would click on update and it would download. Once it's done downloading, it would download it again and again and again and finally, it would say installation/download error? I tried to download another app just to see what would happen and the same thing would happen. it would download the app 3-4 times before it would say an error has occur... any ideas?
