How to remove build-in apps

Monday 09th of August 2010 / forum.androidspin.com
Hi guys,Does anyone know how to remove build-in apps? Like "Music" for instance.Currently I have the new 1.4.1.0 beta OpenX2, with a newly build boot image so that the wi-fi work. Those Apps like Music and YouMail do not have an uninstall button in the application manager menu.On the older version of the ROM I think I was able to go into Terminal Emulator and do:sucd /system/appmv Music.apk Music.apk.bakBut now I get "filesystem is read-only"."mount -o remount,rw /" does not work also, I'm not very familiar with Android's mount process, but the root fs is not written in /etc/fstabPlease share ideas.

How to get rid of minimize notification bar button on android stick PC

Monday 13th of May 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Okay so I have a few of these MK812 android mini PCs that I am setting up for delivering media content to various people, the problem I am having is the end-user skillset ranges from programming god to completely new user (what is a mouse?). The minimize notification bar button that is present by default has caused considerable problems thus far with only 2 of these things installed. And I just received orders to install 10 more!! So how on earth can I get rid of the double down arrow button on the notification bar so that you can no longer hide the notification bar. (Refer to attached image, I am referring to the circled icon). Please help me, I do not have access to the original firmware (the company that sold these too many are from China and refuse to give it to me.) I do have the device itself, it is rooted. I am quite competent when it comes to making changes to the Android device. I just need some direction on how to remove these things. Thank you so very much in advance.

How to sign out of the new Skype 4.0 for Android

Monday 01st of July 2013 / feedproxy.google.com
Skype has done fine work with its new Version 4.0 on Android, bringing about some badly needed performance improvements as well as a redesign. But in doing so, it's buried the sign-out button, as well as the settings — two things that absolutely need to be in the top level of the user interface. Here's how to get to them:When you're logged in, tap the image of your face (or whatever you're using as an avatar) in the top right corner. That'll take you to your account profile. Then hit the overflow button— the three dots— in the lower right corner, or hit the menu button if you're on one of Samsung's phones (or any other with an actual menu button). Now you'll have the option to sign out, or to go to the settings. It's worth noting that if you want to log in with a different username, you'll need to make sure "Sign in automatically" is unchecked in the settings menu.
