Evernote announces major update to Skitch app

Tuesday 30th of October 2012 / androidguys.com
Evernote today announced a “major update” for its Skitch application for Android.  Details include a new, cleaner homescreen, cross-platform sync, improved search and more.  Seeing as how it’s a photo and sketch app at its heart, the new release features some great image-centric options.  Look for additional goodies such as:Pixelate - obscure part of an image to protect private or sensitive informationHighlighter - partially transparent paintbrush tool to draw attention to an object or text in the imagePlanning tool - select, move, resize annotationsEDITOR NOTE: It’s worth pointing out that this bit of news was scheduled to go live at 1PM EST with an embargo.  For whatever reason, the app does not show as updated yet nor does the Evernote blog have its live link.UPDATE: It’s a go!Download Skitch for Android (Google Play)

Easily Create a Background for your Notification Dropdown with NinjaMorph

Monday 11th of June 2012 / droidforums.net
If you are a crack flasher like me who loves to flash Roms and other Mods to your Android device, chances are you have often wondered about creating a theme or custom mod yourself. Or maybe you have wondered how to go into your system and change a few things here and there to customize your device. One of the easiest mods to make on your phone is the Dropdown Notification background. You can simply modify the image using ninjamorph. There are several other theming mods that you can make via Ninjamorph. You can mod anything having to do with the notification menu and anything having to do with the dropdown and more! You can use any image from the web, you will have to resize it to fit the background, or you could use photoshop to make your own background image. The method is simple. Just unpack the Framework-res.apk in ninjamorph and replace the notification background png. Then repackage the Framework-res.apk. The process may take you a bit of time the first time you do it, but once you become familiar with the framework-res.apk you will be able to mod all kinds of stuff with ease!

Resize photo before sending it by email?

Tuesday 26th of February 2013 / android.stackexchange.com
On iOS, when I select one or more photos from the camera storage and choose to send them by email, the OS will ask me whether to send the images in full size or make them smaller so that the email won't be so large. On Android (stock 4.2.2 on Nexus 4) I haven't found a comparable function. When I send an email of my baby to my mom, she receives a full 8-megapixel image that's too large to view on her monitor...How can I have Android reduce the chosen photos before emailing them?I don't want to have to launch an editor app and scale each image individually.I only found one 2-year-old post about this that doesn't mention any solution. Surely, there's a way to do this on Android, similar to how it's done on iOS?

A problem with wallpapers

Wednesday 27th of June 2012 / androidforums.com
Greetings!I bought the SGS3 some days ago and it is my first Android device, so I dont really know how some things work. Ive been using the iPhone before... Ok, so lets go to the issue I have. When I want to set a wallpaper, I am forced to crop the picture and nothing turns out as I want it to. Ive been googling and asking people and all they say is download this app or that app, should work properly. I have tried Quickpic, Wallpaper Wizardrii, Wallpaper setter and some other apps, but they didnt work. The crop-square appears but I cant make it cover the whole picture...The wallpaper:Sorry, image to large to display here. But this is how my screen looks like: Its not only this wallpaper, I have the same problem with every picture I try.I am using Nova Launcher if it matters... Please help me, this is driving me crazy. Do I need to resize the pictures? In that case, to what resolution? Any suggestions on apps that I could try? All I want is that the whole wallpaper fits on one screen...Thanks in advance.
