Rumor: Amazon Android Tablets Will be Ready to Go By October

Wednesday 13th of July 2011 / androidheadlines.com
The Wall Street Journal has heard from “sources familiar with the matter” that Amazon’s plans to launch a tablet will be ready to go by October. October marks the beginning of the 4th quarter. It’s interesting to note that because other rumors have stated that Amazon would be ready to ship tablets in the third quarter. It lines up. Just barely, but it does. (Saying “by” October means we could see it well before October.)It’s said to be one of two devices being released this holiday season. The second device won’t be a touchscreen tablet, says WSJ. The other is expected to be an Android Honeycomb tablet with deep integra…Continue Reading HereRumor: Amazon Android Tablets Will be Ready to Go By OctoberQuentyn Kennemer – phandroid.com

Apps that can be saved to a SD card?

Friday 07th of January 2011 / forums.androidcentral.com
Apologizes if this is beating a dead horse, but it seems like running low on space is very common since many apps cannot be moved to an sd card. My card is mounted and I have installed SDmove which is a great little app. The only problem is 80% of my apps cannot be moved so that tells me the developer determined this. My question is do people know of available apps that can moved to the SD card? Thanks in advance.

Huawei Android device may be heading to T-Mobile

Friday 03rd of September 2010 / talkandroid.com
It looks like the G2 won’t be the only Android device launched on T-Mobile this year. Huawei is currently in talks with the first carrier to launch an Android phone. The device, if the two companies agree on making one, will supposedly be called the Ideos. The device will also be cheap enough so it can sell for as low as $50.Here’s hoping that the device will be high-quality, but when you are talking about a device that can sell for $50, we may be looking at a mid-range Android device. The Ideos is rumored to have a 2.8″ touchscreen, and will run Android 2.2. Now that we know the Apple A5 is a beast, what Android phone will be able to compete with iPHONE5?

Sunday 13th of March 2011 / androidforums.com
Now that we know the Apple A5 is a beast, what Android phone will be able to compete with iPHONE5? I was not expecting this iPAD 2 to out power the Xoom. The Xoom has more ram and a Tegra 2 but yet it still took a beating when compared to the ipad 2! I was expecting the A5 chip to be kinda soft and deliver only a margin increase over the original ipad. Apple Delivered! The iphone 5 will be awesome and we have no Android devices that can counter this now that it is proven that Apple's A5 processor can easily defeat a Tegra 2.We also have no Android devices coming in the near future that can outperform the Apple A5 chip , now that it is proven that Apple's A5 processor can easily defeat a Tegra 2

Android Silver program may be headed to a carrier near you

Tuesday 29th of April 2014 / feedproxy.google.com
Earlier this month rumors surfaced about a new program Google was working on referred to as Android “Silver.” A new briefing about the program has surfaced indicating Google is moving forward with Android Silver and will be retiring the Nexus line of devices to pursue Silver. The program will involve an infusion of cash that Google will spread around to wireless carriers to promote the new high-end Silver devices within carriers’ stores as part of an effort by Google to assert itself within the world of Android. Google will be striving to ensure the devices adhere to a set of Google specifications and that salespeople are trained to assist customers in fully understanding what the devices are capable of doing.Besides advertising through carriers, Google will also work with hardware partners on marketing the new devices. This will come after the manufacturers agree to produce devices for the Silver program that come loaded with an almost pure Android experience and not much else. While details are still being worked out, it appears Google will insist devices that are
