Samsung Tab 7.7: Google account question for downloading apps

Monday 28th of January 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Anyone know if this is possible? I want to keep my new tablet as free of personal information as possible, such as my contacts, Gmail email, calendar, etc. This is in case something happens such as loss or theft, I don't want to worry about my personal information falling into the wrong hands. I went into the Google Play app to download apps, but the first question required was a user account. When I entered my normal Google/Gmail user account as for my Note 2 phone, all my information automatically populated to the tablet, such as my Gmail account, calendar and contacts. I don't want this, I want these apps to be completely empty of information. So I had to do a factory reset to erase all the populated information, and start over again. I then entered a different Gmail account that I know has zero information as to calendar/contacts/Gmail. So with the alternate Gmail account, I was able to now install apps to my tablet, but not having my personal information populate the tablet. So the question is this: I paid for various apps through the Google Play store using my primary Google a

My phone is blocked-answer question-enter google account details

Thursday 25th of April 2013 / droidforums.net
DearMy Sony Xperia ( Sony ericsson ST25i ) is blocked. After the children were playing with it, my phone started to ask me to answer question (unlock with security question) or to enter google account details (unlock with google account details).Thing is that I once made a gmail account for the phone but never really used it, So I don't even know what my email was. the question is 'what is your place of birth?'.But I did not really put my place of birth as an extra security but now me myself cannot enter my phone anymore!!.Is there a way to reset my phone? Even if I loose my data on it, but I want to be sure the method is not a risk to destroy my phone. Please help me with this.

Gmail Account Settings, et al.

Sunday 25th of April 2010 / droidforums.net
Hello-I'm on a steep learning curve here - just switched from an LG Chocolate to a Droid. A few questions. When I activated my yahoo account on my Droid, I was able to give it a label or account name (JSmithYahoo). I did not see an option to assign an account name to my gmail account on the Droid. An account name does show up but it is slightly different than the actually gmail address (i.e. the account name shows JSmith@gmail.com, while my actual gmail address is J.Smith@gmail.com). The gmail account is working and syncing fine. The gamil account name is a minor irritant but am interested in renaming if possible.Question 2: It appears the only way to change the Droid time-out lock period is to purchase an app. Is that correct?Question 3: A number of apps that came with the phone are running in the background (i.e. MP3 Store from Amazon). Is this something that I need to police with future apps?Any thoughts?Regards,

VZW Rep/General Account Questions only. - Page 9

Wednesday 27th of January 2010 / droidforums.net
I have a general account question. Right now my family has myself, my mom, and my sister. My wife is on a family plan with her father and sisters. Is it possible for her to transfer over to my phone line, keep the same number, etc? She's wanting a Pixi/Pre (don't kill me, I have a Droid, haha) and I figured I might as well add her to my plan. Just need to know what all I need to do for that, thanks!

google music all access account question

Sunday 06th of October 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
ok so i have all access and i was letting my girlfriend test it out on her nexus 7. so i set up my account on her nexus, and i made sure i unchecked all the sync buttons under account besides the play music one. but it still went ahead and synced my contacts, google hangouts, and most other stuff, is there a better way to do that or is that pretty much the only way? i was able to sign out of hangouts for her and fix her contacts display, but still wish i could just sign into music.

Android 4.3/Galaxy S4 question

Saturday 04th of January 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
Not really sure if this is an Android question, a Galaxy S4 question, or a Google question, but hopefully someone here knows the answer. I don't know what the function is called, but with the S3 or S4 if you hold down the menu button for a couple seconds it brings up the screen which allows you to do a google search or ask google a question, and the screen also has several pieces of information on it that it thinks might be useful to you (such as how far it is from where you are to your work or home, the current weather, etc.). With my Galaxy S3, if I bring up that screen and ask google a weather related question, it gives me that information in Fahrenheit, but with my new S4 the weather it provides me is always in Celsius (although the little "f" next to the temperature is in blue, and the little "c" is in gray, but the number itself is definitely celsius). Clearly this isn't a configuration issue with my Google/gmail account because I'm using the same account on both phones, and the same Samsung account, (haven't activated the S4 just yet, I'm using it on Wifi t

Please Help with Simple Account Question

Monday 21st of April 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
When I first got my Galaxy tablet (it's a tab pro) but I think you all in this area can help me, I set up my Google account. Since then I've changed the my google id and password. But I can't figure out how to change the way it's set up on my tablet. On my Galaxy phone it let me delete the Google account. So I just deleted the old one and then added it back with the new id and password. But I see no option on my tablet to delete the Google account I originally set up, or any option to change the id and password it uses. This is so simple and yet so frustrating that I can't figure out how to do that. Can someone help please?
